Cutting Cable, help me make a choice!

I though with Roku or anything like that u could watch ur shows whenever? So why would it matter that you could not DVR them anymore

Roku with sling TV loooove iiiiiiiitttt??

We have Roku, Netflix, sling, and Amazon prime. Mostly we use Netflix and sling. DH watches Discovery Go. Ds1 watches nickjr on sling, Rescue Bots or Bob the builder on Netflix. I watch all the cooking shows and renovation shows on sling, or movies on sling or Netflix.

Disney channel on sling has Disney jr shows in the morning and regular Disney shows in the afternoon and evening

Biggest thing I miss is my dvr. Not being able to set shows to record so we can watch later sucks a lot.

We have cable now but I've had Roku on my own. You use one user ID for multiple rooms. As long as you have Netflix & Hulu I think you'll be fine. I don't really remember using my other apps on Roku. So you're paying one monthly fee for Hulu and then Netflix and one time fee for the Roku box(wherever you purchase). Oh and if your kids happen to lose the remote you can download a Roku remote on your phone!

We have an Amazon fire stick in every room that there is a t.v. It's so easy to use once you get used to it. The app we use most is Kodi.

We can watch just about anything we want too. We also have Netflix and Hulu downloaded as well.

We have a Google Chromecast. No problems on our end. We have a Netflix and Hulu account. And we pay for wifi through our cable company.

I'm really looking into getting the Roku. It just seems so easy.

We have the Roku. You only get charged once a month. We have Netflix Hulu and Sling. I only use Netflix and Hulu. We also have HBO so for the kids we use that and for my lazy movie days lol

We never thought about getting rid of cable. This actually sound smart, also I know it'll save money. Cable is expensive.

G box or download kodi to a computer. My husband downloaded kodi and hook the laptop up to the tv. It is great and you can get live tv also.

For local channels you can get an antenna, they work pretty well these days. Check for free trials on paid apps and see how much you use it.

We cut cable out a couple of years ago. We now have some box thing, idk what it's called, my husband is the tech savvy one. Lol. But we use some app on it I think it's called Kodi. We can get any movie or show as longs as it has streamed online somewhere. Totally free, somehow not illegal, I guess because it's streaming and not downloading. We get shows and new movies, sometimes before they are out on DVD. We can't really watch local news on it, so we just go to our local news website and read articles. Before this we just used Hulu plus and Amazon prime. I prefer not to have cable now, it's just so expensive and not worth it since we don't watch a lot of TV.

What about Cromecast? We love ours. I use the ABC app and watch shows, YouTube or Netflix.

Get a jail broken amazon box! Then you won't need anything but internet.

I've thought about getting rid of my direct tv but I just can't do it. I neeeeed my E channel, MTV and Disney Junior.

I had sling for a month or two. Too much glitchibg out for me but I miss my food network shows.
