Bras for the Busty?
So I started out as a 34 DDD and am now at a 40 DDD not bc I need a bigger band but bc it's impossible to find larger cup sizes with smaller band sizes. Today I noticed I am now getting too big for the bras I have! NOOOOOOOO!!!!! The only time I ordered a bra online, it looked like an old torpedo bra from the 1950s. Not cute. Where do my fellow busty ladies buy their bras? Maternity/nursing bras?

I'm a size 32DD and I buy my bras at Victoria Secret. The only bra I could wear is the full coverage and the Demi bra... Hopes this helps :)

Lane Bryant or Catherine's!

Sorry didn't see how old this post was, I sure feel bad for you!!! Poor girl lol that's A LOT to grow in a few months!

I find all that bra to be uncomfortable and heavy on my back. So I just buy cheapy but supportive Hanes Sports Bras from target. If I'm dressing nice than I bring out the big guns which I bought Fredrick's of Hollywood and Soma. But for everyday, sports bras are easier on the back.

@mommylove, I saw up to 44H at Motherhood today. Not that it will help you with a bigger cup, but they had something for bustier women at least.

Two weeks ago I went to Cacique at Lane Bryant and found I am now a 38H at half way thru my pregnancy and they only had ONE bra in store in that size that was not a molded cup. I know I'm going to get bigger and just trying to find a place to buy bras and nursing bras bigger than 38H since I know I'm only going to get bigger, especially when my milk comes in. I know the trick of going up a band size to get a bigger cup size but that really does change the whole fit and support of the bra. It's not really the same at all. I went to Motherhood to look for nursing bras and they don't carry bigger than DDD. (for the one who asked, after DDD comes F, G, and H, then comes impossible to find! Haha)

I actually went to Motherhood Maternity today and tried on bras. I was a 38C pre-pregnancy and a 40DD was small on me today. The cup was fine but the band was a little tight. I figure at the rate I'm going, it'll last another 2 weeks before it's uncomfortable. I did pick up a bra-band extender for $2.00 though. It will allow me to wear the same bra for a longer time even though the band is getting tight. It just attaches to the clips on the back of the bra and makes the band wider than the standard 3 clips they have on there. http://www.motherhood.com/Product.asp?Product_Id=948950445&MasterCategory_Id=MC13

What comes after 36ddd? That is currently where I am now. However I am growing rapidly!

I prefer no underwire when I get big (it rubbed on my belly). So for me I will probably wear my nursing bras during the last part. They stretch and are so soft but still relatively supportive. I wouldn't spend too much on a bra at any one size at this point because once your milk comes in it's gonna change again. A good sports bra in large is also a good option. Look at target nursing bras or Bravado online bras. I never shrunk after nursing so I'm exactly where you are now. 34DDD. And I'm outgrowing my current underwires. Good luck mama

Nordstroms! They have a great selection of nursing bras to try on in their stores and then you can order exactly what you need online. Plus their sales associates are really friendly and supportive.

Also if the material is mesh, polyester like they tend to run a bit smaller. Cotton has always been truest to size for me. Good luck

I just read your other comments and I'm not sure that you'll need larger than an H. If your only a triple D now. There's also a trick that you go up in band size and down in cup size so go to 38-40. I have to do that on occasion. As in try 40DDD or 38g/40g. I'm not quite sure why they are telling you to stay at the same band width!

I just looked on babies r us an I don't see anything bigger than a DDD.
Cacique doesn't carry anything larger than 38H which is what I am wearing now. Where did you buy from online?

I'm a 36G and will move up to H when my milk comes in. It was the exact same way with my son. I shop at cacique it's the lingerie side of lane Bryant. I also have a specialty lingerie store in my area that caters to a bigger bust. We moved to Okinawa before I gave birth to him and had to order my bras online so that's another option for you.

Just saw some that size online for babies r us, 9.99 maternity/nursing bras

I don't remember where my sister bought hers, but she's in a 38 F, I'll have to ask because she got some nursing bras.

Soma has larger cups with small bands, I was able to get a 36 F there, it's the only store I've found that has my size. They have sales pretty often for 2 for 56. I've also heard the genie bra is comfy during pregnancy, never tried one but the L or XL might be big enough and you can grow, plus they're so much cheaper!

I get Anita brand nursing bras off Amazon. I had a Medela lady size me (38G) and the Anita bras have been true to her sizing.

I'm in the same boat! I was 34DDD before I was pregnant! I'm 18 weeks now and I can't find anything that fits :( I have NO idea how I'm going to find nursing bras!
MommyLove1·
I have been to Lane Bryant and their online store. The problem is they only go up to a size H and I know I will need bigger soon. :(

I go to Lane Bryant. I was an F with my last pregnancy. This time I am only a DDD so far. I couldn't find nursing bras in my size. It was very frustrating.
deleted-user·
I was a G last pregnancy! I didn't even know that size existed (I'm normally a full D) I'm already in an F now... Scared of what's to come!!!

I get my bras online at Bare Necessities. They have all the sizes and are regular looking bras. I'm now in a G cup. Ugh.
MommyLove1·
So I found I can wear 38H at Lane Bryant but they have very few unlined full coverage underwire bras. I cannot wear the molded cups at all. AND that is the largest size they carry!!! Where an I going to buy when I get even bigger?!? And where on earth do I find nursing bras in my size?!? I'm so frustrated!!!
deleted-user·
I went from 34D to 36F :( I also go to a specialty shop that has large sizes. You should google plus size or large cup bras and try and find a store that does free returns. This way you can try on a bunch and send them back for free. See if your area has a bra shop. They might be able to help or direct you to another one for larger sizes.

I'm not that far yet but find it difficult to find a 34DD that works for me. Hopefully there are some more suggestions.

Lane Bryant!

I'm not that big. I only went from 34D to 34F, but it's still hard finding the small band size. I bought some nursing bras from Nordstroms online. I'm not sure if they go that big, but it's worth a try. I was actually surprised with how well they fit when I got them.
MommyLove1·
I don't even know where to find a specialty shop!?!
deleted-user·
I have to go to a specialty shop to be custom fitted. Before my first I was a 34 g and now I am a 38 L. Well prepreg I was. Now I'm afraid to get sized.
