working out & breastfeeding
Maybe dumb question but I'm 6 weeks pp I still haven't had my check up, it's the 26th... But I'm EBF and want to start working out and get in shape. I'm averaging 1500 calories a day since I'm watching what I eat. Would working out too much or hard have an effect on my supply? Is there certain things I have to watch out for? Advice please

You need to maintain 1500 calories- so if you eat 1500, then workout and burn 800, you need to make those up. Also, LOTS of water. Your supply will decrease if you are working out really hard

I didn't use a protein supplement per se, but I ate quinoa with fish/chicken and veggies, eggs, almonds, and you can get drinks (yogurt, or one that I found with the sunny d drinks) that have 7g protein per cup.
I haven't had a problem with my supply. I workout 4-6 times a week and have for the last two months (since 8 weeks PP) but I have increased my water and protein.
The high temperature in hot yoga makes my milk come in though. ?
Working out won't affect your supply but not eating or drinking enough will. Starting to exercise, especially the wrong kind, too soon after giving birth can have other negative effects in you, though. You should really want until your check up.
I've never noticed any supply issues with working out. But everyone is different.
Just ensure proper water, calorie, good fats, protein & complex carbs are being consumed in proper amounts of your body.
I was going to post the exact same thing today. I started working out last week but only for about 20 minutes a day. I'm 5 month pp and don't wanna lose my supply!
I'm a beach body coach so I do things like P90 and other stuff. And I already started back slowly doing stuff. I'm 7 weeks pp after my 4th c section.
Start slow! Eat well. If working out viceroyalty make sure your consuming calories for it too.
So the calories consumed will be able to be used for you, baby and working out too.
Eat clean and healthy.
Lower sugars, dairy, meats, gluten and processed foods. All of these develops fat cells and keeps them fed.
I'll be starting my free challenges again soon on fb. I'm so excited .
Working out does not affect your supply. Well balanced diet and ALOT, alot alot of water.
I was 8 weeks when I started insanity, and EBF my DD (still going at 15 months) and I was eating about 1700 a day... And my supply dropped drastically. I added another 500, and it went right back up. Definitely add more calories if your planning on starting to work out.
With dd, I had to workout and go back to work once she was 6 week.
I would start by adding at least 500 more calories and at least a pint more of water.
You can add one boost a day.
I have not been as particular with this baby.
Lovey do you use a protein supplement like to work out?
I was told to keep your protein intake up. In addition to eating enough, you need protein to make milk.
I work out and diet and haven't had any issues.
Just eat enough calories and you'll be fine. I run 15-20 miles a week and my supply hasn't suffered at all. I drink water as soon as I'm done. My dd is four months old.
Following because this exactly what i have been wondering.
You will need to eat more calories if you start a vigorous workout. Est what you burn if your base level is that low and for breastfeeding they'll tell you to up the calories as well.
