Another healthcare worker infected and she flew a day before her symptoms started... Yes I'm very paranoid and worried. We're not as prepared as they thought we were....

@abootyful I always knew u were immature but DAMMMN way to show your true colors. So.if you're bf got ebola you woukd ask that they kill him? People CAN recover from it.
Damn in times of sickness peoples true colors come out, that's for sure.
Abooty,
Please stop. Just stop. I have never read anything more disgusting than that. You are a horrible person. Disgusting. You should be ashamed of yourself. Wouldn't that be a shame if you caught Ebola?
@ abooty I bet if it was one of your family members/kids you would not think of
"putting them down ". WOW just WOW ....
And when they are transporting people on airlines pp, they are taking precautions. They aren't transporting them on a flight filled with people. They are flying on a plane with staff members and the infected patient wearing hazmat suits.
It's not that just transporting people is what gets you infected. The dallas hospital already said they were not trained nor equipped to treat an ebola patient. The CDC did not do their job in preparing these nurses and doctors. They asked for help and it wasn't given.
That is why Kelli. They said because the ATL hospital is better equipped and trained and hasn't had a single staff member infected from the ones they have treated as of yet. And the Dallas hospital already has 2 nurses infected from the one patient they treated. And they suspect there are more staff members to be infected from treating the man in Dallas.
"Put down" really pp? We aren't talking about a dog here. These are PEOPLE with children most likely, and significant others, do you believe they don't deserve a chance to survive?
You are entitled to your opinion as I am to mine but that has to be the stupidest thing I've read regarding Ebola on here.
The only reason I can think as to why they moved her is because that hospital hasn't had enough training on how to treat people with ebola. (Hence why 2 people now have it.) They don't want over extended their medical staff by trying to take care of 2 people.
What I don't understand is why they transferred her to a hospital in another state. Seems to me the best way to control and keep people from being exposed would be to treat them all in the same hospital. Idk, maybe it's just me, but I kinda think we should shut down all incoming flights from infected countries and the Americans who are there now, should they need to get back, should be brought back on private planes and then quarantined until they're clear. This really bothers me. I'm in ft. worth, and patient zero was in Dallas. It is just a little too close to home for my tastes. Especially since my ob and high risk Dr's are located in a hospital building. I hate having to go every 2 - 3 weeks, knowing what might possibly be out there. The good news is both of my Dr's aren't taking any chances with their patients. There's a sign on the doors saying if you're experiencing any flu like symptoms or any kind of fever you have to reschedule and go to the er. It's not much, but at least it's something.
@weinkd I know. I said my opinion. Lol. It sounds so bad and like I'm crazy.
After doing further research, you can still get it after the patient is dead. Sooo, nevermind on my part.
Wonderful idea!!! Let's just put people down for being stupid enough for getting Ebola. Next we can put down children and babies for being stupid enough to have parents who got Ebola and passed it to them. What a genius.
I know this sounds really terrible and inhumane. But what if they just put down the people who have ebola? That's the only 100% it won't spread. Sounds bad, but I wouldn't want to risk entire population just because someone was stupid and didn't follow the "guidlines" they have.
The CDC told her it was OK to fly with that temp. She called and made sure. The CDC 's excuse was that they didn't have guidelines set for that situation. I agree OP, we are screwed.
This is starting to worry me much more, mainly because she brought it so close to home for me. She flew into Akron which isn't very far from me at all..
That nurse was incredibly selfish. I am a nurse and were I caring for anyone with Ebola the last thing I would do is get on a plane and risk spreading it even if I was symptom free. And she was not she had a temp of 99.5. Selfish b**** . Read this: http://dtolar.wordpress.com/2014/10/01/ebola-a-nurses-perspective/comment-page-3/

Wellmayne we will have more cases about the, ebola since the 2nd nurse with it boarded the plane with 99.5 temp...
Theres a meme in Facebook that went arount that shows how many people in the US have ebola, enterovirus 68, and other things that are common killers. It kind of shows how we are scared of something that has sickened a few when we really have bigger issues killing people or making more people sick.
Well now that the dow has dropped 400 points im sure Obama will do a lil more to ensure our safety. He even postponed his trip for a important briefing. :/
So how long does the virus live outside the host if bodily fluids end up on door handles, shopping carts etc?
It would possibly take years for Ebola to mutate into an airborne virus. You do realize this virus has been around for decades and only ONE strain is possibly airborne. And it's questionable if that strain can even be transmitted to humans.
So don't go playing in bodily fluids, and you'll be fine.

I agree on E68 but at this point for me at least ebola is more concerning that thing mutates airborne we'll have a pandemic on our hands. Clearly we are not prepared for something like that.
Entrovirus 68 is more worrisome and is spreading quickly through most of the states, and sending lots of kids to the hospital
We're heading home!! We went with the gray outfit. ☺

Still haven't told DH... ...that we're expecting! ? Tonight we were at dinner with my brother and SIL and they just had a baby 4 weeks ago. She said something about babies and DH replies, with such an attitude, "uh no! Never again, we are done!"
