Long post... just having a really sh.t time right now. Im 16 weeks pregnant with baby no.2 i have a 2 and half year old son and my husband has just been diognosed with gullian barre syndrome which is an auto ammune disease that has temporarily paralysed him from the waist down and is in hospital on oxygen and wont be coming home for weeks. Having to juggle everything is absolutly exhausting physically and mentally. Trying to keep up with the housework look after my son visit my husband and help him in the hospital then looking after myself. Its literally running me so far into the ground i just wish it would swallow me whole ... sorry for the depressing post

That sounds absolutely horrible. I hope you've given yourself a chance to cry some of it out. Is there any family or friends around that can help? You will get through this.

That is horrible, is there anyone that can help you? Sounds like you are having a really hard time. Can you speak to midwife? They might know an agency that could help out? Homestart? Xx

My 20 year old cousin had this earlier in the year and it was an awful time, I'm sorry to hear that. I hope he makes a quick recovery and you get the support you need too xx

Hope he has a speedy recovery.
Can you set up friends and family to help? A visiting rota so he’s never alone but it’s not just you visiting.
Ask others to help clean or cook, babysit etc. I had to swallow my pride when DH was in hospital and dd was 5 months old. With two others, work and housework I couldn’t do it all and I didn’t have the pregnancy side to deal with. My neighbours and friends all helped with ironing, cleaning, having the kids so I could shower and power nap etc.
There’s enough time for some chores to be left - who cares if you don’t hoover every day, you have the odd ready meal or your son has simple foods like macaroni cheese.
People will be wanting to know how to help and won’t know how - ask them/ tell them what you need
Big hugs xx

Can you speak with the ward sister/matron? I pointed out the problems with kids and visiting. They moved dh to a family room. There was a sofa bed, tv, games etc in there for the kids. I was able to stay over, the visiting hours weren’t so strict as he was on his own. That meant I could visit once the kids were in bed xx

They are actually really slack on visiting hours im alloud to go whenever i like its just the fact the hospital he is in is an hour away from me and i dont drive which makes things that much harder there is a day room on the ward but its literally tiny and no way can fit a hospital bed in and he physically cannot leave his bed to do anything xx
