My hospital officially posted on their website that no spouses are aloud in during birth/post partum. So guess who’s gonna have to freaking look into a midwife for vbac tomorrow 🙃 not an option to have my fiancé miss the whole birth of our son. Freaking crazy.

It don't understand why they feel they need to do this!! Y'all live together! My hospital has said ONLY one support person the entire time. But they can not leave. If they leave, they can't come back and noone can take their spot. That's more understandable.

@littleonemorning I'm in NY. It is out of control. I see on snap and fb all these people going out and about. Play dates. Icecream runs. And stuff like that. Ive become the asshole bc I won't let them come here for a visit. I've left my house 3x this month. All for appointments. I'm terrified. I understand why..I just...idk. and I know it's not the nurses, or doctors. It's just trying to keep people healthy. Just insane it's come to this 😭

it is unfair, but it’s also unfair that people are still trying to live their lives like nothing is going on. The hospitals are pretty packed as it is. I’d imagine even more so in New York. You won’t be alone, you’ll have nurses and doctors around to support you every step of the way.

It’s scary, but this is something you’ll look back on in years to come and realize that whatever happened was the best course of action.

@littleonemorning it's just....so unfair. And so heartbreaking. I have severe ptsd, I can't imagine my hubby not being with me. Idk what I'd do if I had to be alone

It’s for a reason. It sucks but there are medical safety practices that need to happen and until people take COVID seriously, all medical staff need to do what’s best for everyone involved.

Don’t get me wrong. I get why you’re upset. But here’s the thing, you’re in a pandemic hot spot. L&D nurses here (Upstate NY) have been asked to follow strict social distancing/quarantine or take a temporary leave of absence. Two I know personally. One is staying at another L&Ds nurses home and isn’t able to see her husband or children as they were asked not to have contact with anyone going out in the community. Another hasn’t seen her children or grandchildren in weeks. The issue isn’t just if you’ve been exposed. If your Spouse is exposed and coughs or sneezes it’s not just you and your baby at risk. It’s every nurse, doctor, PA, CNA, housekeeper, mother and baby on that unit.

It’s incredibly frustrating, especially during this time, but it’s for the best. It’s okay to be angry, but really don’t take it out on the hospital or the staff, I can guarantee they don’t want to be doing this either.

I understand it's upsetting but it's REALLY the best, only in my opinion, option to ensure the health and wellbeing of your family. Have you done any research on what's going on in NY hospitals? They really don't have the extra room for people that don't require care. I'm really sorry, I would be upset too, I get it. However, people are DYING, more and more every HOUR. We just all have to do what we have to do right now. The more we listen the quicker this is going to be over.

@briannalynn547, In YOUR case, that may not be true for others. They didn't make this rule for you alone. I'm saying as a WHOLE it cuts down contamination. Again, it's not about you personally.

@briannalynn547, GIIIRL. You don't get it. Good luck. I hope all works out for you in 10 weeks. Good night.

@leonardsquared, your right , it wasn’t . But I’m still going to be beyond angry and complain about it because my family is taking every single precaution not to spread the virus and keep people safe and I have to sit there and suffer along with my SO because others think it’s a joke and don’t care to follow rules/directions . So unless I can find someone to agree to let me have a vbac at home that I can afford , or a hospital that will allow him , we suffer . And I will complain and cry about it until I’m blue in the face . Idc . I had extreme PPD with my son that went undiagnosed forever . And just reading that I might have to do it alone has my anxiety and stress through the roof .

@watz, thank you! I am too. My doctor saw how stressed I was at my appointment and tried to put me on anxiety meds 😅 it definitely took a big weight off my shoulders!

-UPDATE- what is your kids birthday?!

-UPDATE- what is your kids birthday?! I know we have a post of our EDDs, but do we have a post listing our kids actual birthday (in a list easier to read than the comments in the birth announcement post)?!

Birth Plan Rant I used to be all about getting an epidural, but after research and thinking about it more I want to have an unmedicated birth (this is my first baby). What annoys me is when I say that I'm going to TRY my hardest to have a natural and unmedicated birth people always feel the need to say that I'm crazy or that I'm going to change my mind when I get in that position. Or that epidurals are the best. I do realize that plans change, but why can't people be supportive and encouraging?

OT. rant! forward facing early

OT. rant! forward facing early ok, so in my birth month forum (October 2012) someone posted a picture of their lo riding in the car in a forward facing seat! what???? it baffles me when parents do this. I'm not trying to offend anyone.. but why do ppl do this?? the oldest baby in our birth month is 9 months, she was 3 months premature. but even at 9 months I wouldn't have my child forward facing.
