My hospital officially posted on their website that no spouses are aloud in during birth/post partum. So guess who’s gonna have to freaking look into a midwife for vbac tomorrow 🙃 not an option to have my fiancé miss the whole birth of our son. Freaking crazy.

It don't understand why they feel they need to do this!! Y'all live together! My hospital has said ONLY one support person the entire time. But they can not leave. If they leave, they can't come back and noone can take their spot. That's more understandable.

@littleonemorning I'm in NY. It is out of control. I see on snap and fb all these people going out and about. Play dates. Icecream runs. And stuff like that. Ive become the asshole bc I won't let them come here for a visit. I've left my house 3x this month. All for appointments. I'm terrified. I understand why..I just...idk. and I know it's not the nurses, or doctors. It's just trying to keep people healthy. Just insane it's come to this 😭

it is unfair, but it’s also unfair that people are still trying to live their lives like nothing is going on. The hospitals are pretty packed as it is. I’d imagine even more so in New York. You won’t be alone, you’ll have nurses and doctors around to support you every step of the way.
It’s scary, but this is something you’ll look back on in years to come and realize that whatever happened was the best course of action.

@littleonemorning it's just....so unfair. And so heartbreaking. I have severe ptsd, I can't imagine my hubby not being with me. Idk what I'd do if I had to be alone

It’s for a reason. It sucks but there are medical safety practices that need to happen and until people take COVID seriously, all medical staff need to do what’s best for everyone involved.

Don’t get me wrong. I get why you’re upset. But here’s the thing, you’re in a pandemic hot spot. L&D nurses here (Upstate NY) have been asked to follow strict social distancing/quarantine or take a temporary leave of absence. Two I know personally. One is staying at another L&Ds nurses home and isn’t able to see her husband or children as they were asked not to have contact with anyone going out in the community. Another hasn’t seen her children or grandchildren in weeks. The issue isn’t just if you’ve been exposed. If your Spouse is exposed and coughs or sneezes it’s not just you and your baby at risk. It’s every nurse, doctor, PA, CNA, housekeeper, mother and baby on that unit.
