Fell.
Hey ladies I'm going on 36 weeks now and I just fell on my back/side. My doctors office isn't open and I was wondering if anyone thought I should make a trip to the hospital? I didn't fall super hard and I softened the blow with my arm and leg before the rest of my body hit. My stomach isn't in any pain and baby seems to be moving just fine. I just wasn't sure.

I have been punched in the stomach by my strong boxer dog and this is during my
First trimester.. I think your baby will be okay. Your body protects it very well.
If you do start getting cramps and really bad ones I would go...

I've already started getting contractions lately which is why I'm more worried. I don't know if falling could potentially put me into labor or not. Thank you pp for the advice!

Call the nurses line at the hospital and ask them

My ob told me to be extra safe if I fall (even just on my a$$) to at least call the advice nurse, and probably still go to l&d just to be safe. Usually if you aren't getting cramping or pain or blood you're okay, but she said its best to always play it safe and check it out.

I called and they said if I start feeling any pain or anything then to come in

I'm 30 weeks and was kicked by a student at work. I was told if you don't feel the baby move like the normally would, start bleeding or cramping go in right away. Just monitor yourself and if you feel anything not normal go to the hospital.

Thank you pp. He's moving around like normal thankfully!

Always call . No matter what, with trauma there is always a risk. Unlikely , but let your doctor make that decision whether not to come in . They typically like to monitor the baby to make sure the baby is not in distress . For example: I got rear ended and had to be monitored for a couple of hours because of the jolt from the car it could separate be just enough force to call placenta abruption. All in all my baby was fine but it gave me peace of mind . I would call (after hrs phone line) .. !
*definitely not trying to freak you out.!

Oh and to the pp.. Trauma in the first trimester compared to the last trimester .. totally different !! Your baby is more cushioned when they are that teeny . But 36 weeks .. Is a hell of a difference . !!

Yeah I called the emergency care line and they just said to pay extra attention to baby and if he isn't acting normal or if I start spotting then to come in. Thankfully he's doing just fine and no spotting! Thank you pp for the advice about calling them.
