37 weeks as of yesterday!
Please tell me I not the only one who wants their baby to stay in till 40 weeks?
I do! I wouldn't say I'm enjoying this last few weeks of pregnancy. But I'm an intern. My last day of internship is supposed to be the 10th but DD is the 4th. I kind of want to go to 41 weeks just so I don't have to make any time up. Also, this is my first and I'm not really sure how ready I am....
And my sisters birthday is the 20th. I don't want their birthdays to be too close together. My birthday was close to my brothers growing up so we always shared a party and I hated it.
Me. ? I want a healthy full term baby. No coming early please. When they did my ultrasound back at 20 weeks the first thing I asked was all health related questions. Not gender. My tech was really surprised. I even asked I you could see cleft lip that early. Also I got so happy when I seen a nice strong spine. I love my baby in its neo natal nursery being protected and I bet it's so peaceful. Coming out of this world is traumatic it will never get that comfort back. Physically and emotionally being pregnant suxks but Ill take it. I want to have the bragging rights of a natural Healthy birth. I've put a lot of work in. Drinking water eating right going to the gym till I was 8 months doing yoga twice a week, resting, getting the house ready, taking walks even tho I was extremely uncomfortable working at a bar until I was 32 weeks I want it all to pay off. If God forbid my baby ends up in nicu I'd be heartbroken knowing I tried my best to keep this vessel in decent shape. Please stay in baby. :) plus im not ready for my quiet house to be filled with baby cries.
Agree! I'm super uncomfortable... but want nature to run its course and let her come when she's good and ready. Not a minute before. Plus, everyone in my house has a cough right now. Little peanut is protected while still inside! Had a talk with her this morning... while coughing. "You'll stay inside if you know what's good for you!" ?
I do. Staying inside is the safest if no complications are present. I already know what to expect on the outside so I am in no rush. As long as you have boobs and diapers you don't need anything. I'm not doing anything but a load of laundry before baby comes. That's it. ❤️ newborns just eat and sleep. Super prep is more for parents than baby.
I had a NICU baby last time. Not fun.
@blueberry79 - Amen! I posted stufiesnfrom national institute of health (NIH) that showed babies are still developing until full term but, like I said, I was met with many defensive women who told me to get my facts right. Haha, they must not understand what a clinical trial is or who the NIH is. It worries me that if they are not willing to make a small sacrifice of being uncomfortable (again, excluding those who need it for medical reasons), then what else will they not sacrifice as a mother for their child?! Also, I find nothing wrong with educating people before they make a decision, which apparently isn't an acceptable thing to do!
Me, I'd love for her to stay in there till the very end, although it won't happen for me due to a necessary section. Thankfuly she is being born at 39+2, which isn't too bad. Id tell them to leave me the last couple of days but they don't want me to go into labour naturally.
Just because a baby is deemed as term weeks before, I don't believe they should be out in the world unless there's a medical reason or there's a risk to life. In the last few weeks your babies organs are approaching maturity and are gaining their real world 'insulation' or baby fat. Your womb is the best little safe haven for this to happen.
Nearly any woman you ask feels uncomfortable and sick of being pregnant in the last few weeks, and I get it. Nothing new there. I haven't slept properly in months and I'm sick of injecting myself, the misery of the controlled diet for GD I'm on, and even moving is such a chore. But, we made a decision to have a baby so I would rather give her the best possible start in life by seeing it through to the end. I don't want to see her start life with tubes hanging off her or needing injections to mature her organs because *I'm* done with being pregnant. I've been through crippling SPD in pregnancies too, but I just suck it up and get on with it.
I've asked women here why they want their babies out weeks earlier with no medical necessity for it. The question is normally met with defensiveness because they don't want to face facts. If the reason isn't a medical necessity it just boils down to selfishness. I'll raise the question, but I won't argue with 'I didn't ask to be judged or for a lecture'. I don't really need to say anymore about it, because I know why a baby needs to stay put for as long as possible.
I love feeling our baby inside me, and I know she is safe. Although I'm horrendously uncomfortable and like a zombie without sleep, it's not my place to just throw the towel in when I choose to. It's a small price to pay for a fighting fit little girl that's ready to meet her doting Mum and Dad and two older brothers ?
???????? + ?= ????
Me! Whenever I see people saying they want their baby out now, I'm just like ??..I mean I get it! Being pregnant isn't always "the bees knees" and it's pretty damn uncomfortable but as long as she is ok and my doctor will let me go full term, I'm happy with it! I have the house and her room in order but mentally I am not prepared. I'm scared of what life will be like with 2 and I am scared of not getting any sleep. I used to sleep when my son slept but obviously can't do that this time around! I am now in pain my back, the Braxton hicks, the night time vagina pressure, the nausea and heartburn are a lot to handle with taking care of a toddler. I am really excited to meet her.........on her due date! I won't be doing anything to hurry labor along either just like I didn't last time.
My due date in on a Wednesday (last week in my fiancé pay period) and I would love for him to come them. My fiancé doesn't get any time off and he's saving his vacation so if can come on a Wednesday my fiancé can take Thursday, Friday, Monday and Tuesday off and his paychecks wont be hurting to bad ?
Me! We have everything ready for her but id rather her come when she's full term since her lungs will develop until she's born and I don't want any NICU time. It seems like a lot are getting induced at 39 weeks though.
Also I'm due May 4th and my Moms birthday is April 29th, 5 days before my due date, and I don't want her born on her birthday. She's always saying she's going to come as her birthday present every time we talk...And it's driving me crazy. ?

My baby is a prune!! What fruit is your baby this week?!

Happy three weeks Ezra!

I swear it gets bigger everyday, but I'll be 39 weeks Friday ❤
@manda03 37-39 weeks is early term and 39 weeks is full term.
For anyone wanting to educate, March of Dimes has a good review on why 39+ weeks is best.
