I'm done!
I was due Tuesday and even though it's only been a few days I just can't take it anymore! I want to go natural so bad but my midwife told me I can choose to get induced if she's not here by Monday. I'm afraid that if I get induced I'll ask for an epidural. Someone please talk me out of agreeing to an induction!!
Run! Lol... Seriously, though. I ran a baseball diamond with my other kiddos and was in labor within minutes.
I'd avoid the induction for sure! After going into labor naturally with all but my last pregnancy I can attest that pitocin is much worse. It can be done without an epi, but it's much more difficult to stay focused.
I was induced but wasn't having strong contractions with the pitocin drip. It took me from a 2 to almost 5 dilation before they finally broke my water. After that it got really bad so I got the epidural and they took me off of the pit drip. Labor was short and smooth sailing from there. The actual pitocin didn't cause bad contractions though, for me at least.
Well you guys are giving me hope! My husband doesn't want me to be induced ether, he knows how much I've had my heart set on attempting natural. He's actively helping me do (safe) things to self induce. He's even initiated sex, and he hasn't done that in forever lol
I hope baby comes on its own for you!! The contractions were just fine until I got induced. Then it was the worst pain I have ever experienced. I was groaning, sobbing, and swearing though every single contraction. I only withstood 5 hours of the pitocin before I got the epidural. Then I got the shakes so bad after I got it :( but after 4 hours my water broke and baby was out in 5 pushes
Tuesday I will be 41 weeks, that's the day she wants to schedule the induction. I've been having irregular contractions since my appointment yesterday though so hopefully something happens this weekend.
I've hear such scary things about how bad labor is with pitocin, so I've been against it from the beginning. She didn't give me a reason for wanting to induce, the way she said it made it seem like somewhat of an option for me. I mean yes I'm miserable, but I don't want to just give in when I've been so adamant about this for months.
Have you asked for a membrane sweep I didn't want to be induced with my LO and my second membrane sweep put me into labor that evening only bad thing for me I stopped progressing after 7 cm and my contractions stopped all together so I ended up getting pitocin after all and an epidural I wasn't happy about it but I just didn't use it much I only pushed the button once when the pitocin really kicked in
I was induced Tuesday and labor was so miserable compared to labor with my first which happened naturally. If I ever had a choice, I'd wait it out. I was on pitocin for 10 hours before my contractions went from mildly uncomfortable to unbearable in only about 20 minutes. There was no way I could have not gotten an epidural, my blood pressure (which is why I was induced in the first place) shot up once the pain started to intensify. That was literally the worse pain I had ever felt, way worse than with my first.
When I went in yesterday I was still at 1cm and she stretched me to 2cm. I've been trying everything to get things moving naturally.
It honestly surprised me too when she suggested it, she's been so laid back and conservative about everything so far; she didn't even check for dilation until I was heading into my 39th week. I don't know if I just seem that miserable that she offered it or what but the temptation to accept is very strong.
Please help!
My doctor is trying to induce me before 40 weeks because she's going to be off on my due date and says my placenta is starting to look old. How do I get labor started?? I don't want to be induced for no reason and I'm thinking I won't have a choice. Please help. What do I do to get things going?
induction
I'm being induced right now!! I already got the first dose of cytotec placed inside me. I currently have back pain and I'm starting to get nervous!!

Is this the one yall drink to induce??? I'm desperate
I'm getting induced tomorrow night! I'm scared bc ive wasnt induced with my other 2. Im not sure what to expect, but im excited I get to meet my son Thursday.
I've had three pitocin births with epidurals and a C-section also with an epidural. There are some women who just won't go completely into labor on their own, everyone is different. The are many reasons to be induced, namely it's not safe for a baby to be inside of you for too long after your due date/42 weeks, so you have to take that into account to, even though I know you said you're almost 41 weeks, that may be your midwife's concern. Do what's right and safe for you and your baby.
