Unpopular opinions
I've seen this before but I've seen a lot of new ladies on here. What's your unpopular opinions?
Sab, how is child support robbery, it takes two to tango well from what I know about making babies, so why does the guy get off Scott free when he helped make that child? You can't just go around wipping your ding dong out, making babies and act like you won't have to help in any sort of way! Lol
OH, it may not be an unpopular opinion here, but it is when you go to look at wedding stuff (another post reminded me of this). I think the burlap/rustic/old stuff wedding trend is ugly. Especially when you then pair it with lace. I understand that trends happen with weddings, but why wouldn't you aim for a more timeless approach?
Naked cakes, old barn door backdrops, burlap everything, mason jars and rusty buckets don't look pretty. I seriously do not get it.
Haha I can't believe this was still going. I'm over here dealing with my crazy mil who is in town. Pray for me guys. One day down. Seven more to go ?
If I get arrested I'll have dh come update y'all. Hahaa
I say fed is best all day long ??
I failed at breastfeeding my son but plan to do my best to breastfeed this baby, I would certainly prefer it. But if it comes down to my baby starving or eating formula, imma go with formula because fed is best ?
Saying the R word kinda just makes your whole comment invalid.
People that claim to be organic-gluten free- non-GMO--blah blah but still consume alcohol. Isn't that just as toxic to your body?
Why is it wrong to say Black Lives Matter, but okay to say Blue Lives Matter?
Going to work is HARDER than being a SAHM when you have a career. I've done both.
Layering your face with makeup. Idc if it's your hobby, it's too much.
Child support shouldn't exist? Interesting.
So a non custodial parent shouldn't be legally bound to financially contribute to the upbringing of the child? The custodial parent should shoulder all the costs? Nah. I didn't make a child by myself, I'm not shouldering the finances of taking care of her by myself.
I hate it when people think the second amendment is about hunting for food, recreational gun use, etc. Have you read the constitution? It's to protect ourselves from a tyrannical government.
I am also not a fan of repeating consonants to make a word longer, like ttttttthis. How would I say that? If you're going to repeat letters, repeat the vowels so I can say it in my head like thiiiiiiiiis.
I hate how people think I am uneducated for not vaccinating. They think I am afraid of autism. It it's against my beliefs to put unclean animal in your body plain and simple. I homeschool and I take measures to insure cleanliness when we are in public. We are healthy people that are building our own immune systems.
I hate feminists
I hate people who think that doctors are God
When someone says fed is best, they're just trying to make themselves feel better about not wanting what's best for their baby (breastmilk)
Abortion is murder
If you drink or smoke while pregnant, you're trash
Sleeping around doesn't make you cool or equal to men, it just makes you a hoe
I hate liberals
Child support shouldn't exist, it's just legal robbery
There's a reason why uncommon names are uncommon, it's because they sound stupid
The word shaming (slut shaming, fat shaming) needs to go, it's overused and annoying
People who say you was, we was, it's you were, we were, you dumb ???
There's so much more I could add, but I'll leave it at that
@new, if you think I'm a mean girl you should have seen this app a few years ago. I am allowed to defend my opinions despite them making you uncomfortable. You also won't see me carry this to other posts, I've been here long enough to get along with other users, including @mja (we went through IUD babies at the same time.)
This is tame compared to those days. My a** hid in a corner.
@emmy I'd love to. Sadly whenever I do that its about the things in my life that are not perfect, the things i struggle with. It always becomes a witch hunt lmao. And I've long since learned not to try to defend myself or its a blood bath lol...
Keep on coming back though bc there are some amazing women here.
It wasn't aimed towards anyone just thought I'd put my 2 cents in ? ....
I just think the whole thing is stupid! Point is I don't care how anyone feeds their kid! Why doesn't everyone feel the same!? I'm sure we all do things as mother's that the other would frown upon! Wether you breast or formula feed
@tasha
If someone says "I'm thinking about giving up, it's so hard" it is relevant. I've been there. It's hard.
If someone says "I'm formula feeding" then I'm not going to question or push them.
And on this app, breastfeeding is viewed as best. But in the real world, I get so much s*** for breastfeeding. Have you ever read comments from the general public (not BB moms) under any posts regarding BF? Disgusting.
So until we figure out which one of us is the bigger victim I guess we will have to work on being a little less sensitive.
It wouldn't be relevant in the example though. Telling someone that breast is best when they already said they were giving up isn't the same as when someone is waffling on the subject. Someone needing encouragement to keep going and someone needing support while they stop is completely different scenarios.
And not to be rude, but if you managed to breastfeed your 2 kids, you wouldn't really get the shaming, looks, and judgements that a mom who had to formula feed receives. It's easy to say "it's all in your head" when you've never been accosted while buying formula.
@Mja
No one called you a bad mother. What others do with their children does not affect yours. I breastfed two kids and would never think to call you a bad mother so I'm not sure why a *conversation about breastfeeding* would cause you to bust out into a defensive, exclamation filled rant.
But what about people who post "I'm giving up breastfeeding" and you get replies like "don't give up! Breast is best!" Isn't that passive shaming? Like, "no, your choice is wrong and you're looking for support but we are going to passively aggressively tell you not to." Thankfully, I haven't seen them lately, but when I first had my son, I saw that A LOT. Hell, I got that response once upon a time. I deleted it because I was so ashamed and PPDed up that I felt like a failure.
Omg can we stop with the breast feeding formula feeding crap?! I mean seriously who cares how you feed your kid??? I know I sure as hell don't! I have 4 kids and I didn't breastfeed one! Didn't even try. Judge if you want! My kids look think and play just like the next breastfeed kid! You would have never known what they ate as a baby lol!
Now for those who have their eyes I'm the back of their heads let me tell you why I didn't even try not that its anyone's business at all! But I didn't cause I was molested as a kid by two different people hell I didn't know one way or the other if it would affect the way I felt while breastfeeding but I didn't want to take that chance! Does that make me a bad mother? Well so be it!
For example, if I see a photo of you feeding your baby a bottle of formula and I hop on the comments like "breast is best, huahuahuah..." then that is an a****** thing to do.
If we are having on open discussion about the benefits of breastfeeding or encouraging a mother who needs help BF and providing facts then that is not mom shaming. Unless someone pops in with an uneccessary comment about formula being the devil, then again, an a****** thing to do.
(And come to think of it, I've only ever seen a few users attack like this and they are no longer active. Everyone here is pretty respectful and straightforward over this issue nowadays.)
I'm sorry that some of you have felt belittled in the past.
To comment on the breast is best issue.
I don't know the intentions of everyone who says "breast is best" to another woman, but when I say it, I say it because science tells us it is best. Usually as a rebuttal to someone discouraging or discrediting breastfeeding, not as an attack. Just a fact. I can believe that moms get shamed for not breastfeeding and I understand that y'all are hurt and on the defensive. Moms who breastfeed are shamed and discredited as well and we go on the defensive too. I think this is something you'll encounter as a mother in general, regardless if you are pro BF or FF.
Facts shouldn't make us feel "judged." If someone is going to the length to make you feel bad about your decision then that speaks about the person themselves, not BF or FF.
Agree with skate's feelings. I very much wanted to breastfeed. I had no bottles or formula in my home when I gave birth because the thought of needing it never even crossed my mind. Sometimes things don't work out like we planned, and it's a shame we have to beat ourselves up about it. I wish I was breastfeeding my 15-month-old right now because I know it's best. A lot of people, even here, use breast is best to shame other moms. I appreciate the people saying breast is best, but nothing is wrong with formula.
I don't believe in a traditional god, I believe religion is evil as well.
I believe it's impossible to love animals and not be vegan, and I believe fluoride is poison, and I'm 1000000% pro marijuana *its legal where I'm from* also I believe skin is skin and I don't judge people for wearing as little or as much clothing as they want. I think ignoring the systematic oppression of poc is just as bad as those who support it, I believe in sacred geometry and spirit science. And I agree circumcision is wrong, I don't understand how we all know female genital mutilation is wrong yet people still support it for males.
@serena... oh that's so interesting. I'll have to look into that. I've never heard that, but it'll be a cool thing to look into. It definitely doesn't affect me now. I know I did what I had to at the time and it was absolutely the best choice for both me and Ivy. But as a new mom is definitely had an affect on me. I thought it might be interesting to bring that point of view to the table.
Why do people care what substances others ingest? As long as they're not responsible for kids at the time or driving around in their car etc etc, then that's their decision to make. Not sure why anyone would get their panties in a twist over what others do in their spare time if it doesn't affect them one bit.
Saying this as a non-weed smoking, barely alcohol drinking person. Whooooo tf cares?
@skate there's actually a lot of studies that claim that formula might actually be better for babies because of the amount of toxins we accumulate over the course of our lives end up in our breast milk...and this is coming from a mom who breastfed. You really shouldn't let that phrase have power over you because as long as you know you did what you could for your daughter then who cares?
Just gonna stick my nose in the conversation for a sec. As a mother who tried to breastfeed but wasn't successful for many reason, some medical and some because of lack of support, hearing breast is best breaks my heart. It's absolutely true, but it really is a punch in the gut. We all want to do what's best for our babies and knowing that I couldn't do what was best made me feel like an absolute failure and that I failed Ivy. I did what was second best for her and I've now accepted how things went. But while I was suffering from ppd and really struggling with the fact that I couldn't give my daughter breast milk, having someone tell me "fed is best" truly saved me a little. Not because breast is best isn't true, because is very much is, but because it was encouraging to have someone tell me I wasn't completely failing my baby. While I'm sure there are people who truly are offended by the saying "breast is best", I think a lot of mamas are like me and only find it painful because it makes us feel like we failed.
I'm back with more opinions ?
If you have to dress with your boobies hanging out and your arse hanging out under your shorts, I'm judging you. Maybe it makes you feel "empowered" but to me you look trashy. I don't care how attractive, unattractive, overweight, underweight, or perfect you are, you're making yourself look trashy.
Modest dressers look so much more attractive than people who barely dress at all.?
Coffee is nasty. What's all the hype over Starbucks?
I also hate Reese's. Yuck
I think I'm done here ?
I also love "bloody" and "arse" I wish we talked like that haha
I'm so surprised this hasn't been closed yet and weeds not legal until 2018 guys. Here in CA right now it's legal with a medical reccomendation card but for recreational purposes its next year. And even then the state gave the cities and counties jurisdiction over choosing to allow or not allow growing and buying.
When people post pics of their dirty arse houses. Clutter is ok, but dirt?!? If you're willing to show some of that mess on a public forum I'm wondering what the rest looks like ? clean. It's not that hard.
"Don't mind the mess" comments... well now that you said it- I can't stop staring.
People who think breast is best is an insult to formula. I mean kale is best, but spinach doesn't get its panties in a twist over it.
Lol! These are too funny. I don't lump trump supporters together. There are a few categories....
The ignorant ones who believe in his lies even when he said the opposite thing a week ago or history science, facts prove him wrong.
And the hostile ones who think all Muslims are bad or hung dummies of obama during his presidency; who call people things libtards and snowflakes when in a debate. Who hate/fear the thought of their country turning brown.
Then there are the ones who just go by who their parent's supported and it's all rainbows and butterflies.
I'm not talking about supporters as people who want him to succeed im his presidency...which would be cool depending on your idea of succeeding. I'm talking about his followers.
I do have friends who fit a couple of these categories and sometimes we argue and they know my opinion so we try not to discuss politics, but I have a $50 bet that he is impeached or resigns before his next term.
Anywho. I forgot that we won the popular vote so this really doesn't belong here.
Oohh am i the only one that hates that documentary on Netflix " what the health" ??
They did have some good points but too exaggerated , nd the women they had there's no way they just magically got better in 2 weeks with a full plant based diet no way !!! Nd no way you can feed a family with $20 something dollars a weeks only plant based , the family will starve. Nd I feel that alot of documentaries like this are very bious .
Pps go to all groups and select announcements. You'll see an abbreviations post
I love Simon Cowell.
I hate being a SAHM. (I miss working, school and being a nurse)
I dislike all this hype about Beyonce and her twins, Kim K and her kids weird names.
I HATE the Kardashians (but that would be a popular opinion, lol)
I love cartoons and children movies.
Parents who use Marijuana recreationally and/or medically are okay, As long as they are responsible about it and not using while pregnant or in front of children.
(Cant wait till i can smoke a joint again) idgaf what you all think ??
@thisisfeeney yes the media can hype it up and bring more attention to the things that will separate however they are there to report on the newsworthy. What events of unity and togetherness across races have happened that were newsworthy recently? And while you believe racism exists many don't. I've flat out heard the statement "racism is over." And they really expect me to be like, really it's gone!? I had no idea.....yes for people like that I'm glad the media is showing them racism is still alive.
I do get what your saying though, maybe one day it can actually be that way and we'll have some unifying events that bring us together happening that are newsworthy.
@orange I just wanted to point out I didn't mean racism is all hype. I said it is very real and we should be aware. It's wrong. But the media it seems purposely causes a separation. They instigate and get the citizens all fired up. Instead of bringing people together and becoming unified they cause sides.
Short Luteal Phase?
I've just started temping because I believe that the reason I haven't had a BFP yet, after 20 months, is because I believe I may have a Luteal Phase Defect.
Transgender children
So I just learned that in my kids school district (my kids aren't in school yet my oldest will be starting kindergarten next September) there are twin boys who identify as girls. They are 5 years old. What's your opinions on this matter given they are 5!!! I don't believe that at that age they really understand the whole thing. So the entire school had to take a course on how to handle transgender children. For example they can't say girls go this or boys do that. What are...
the amount of women who are clueless about their own anatomy is so sad and shocking. a lot of the women are older than me and have more children then I do 😳
now I understand that everyone has their own opinion on the topic and grown adults can do whatever they want with their bodies but to deny facts and make up false statements about your own anatomy when it comes to your unborn child is just so disappointing.
ссылка
so yes ima go hard in the comments bec...
Just seen a chick on offer up selling 12 mo old baby clothes, bottles and (gasp) baby milk! 5 cans for 10 bucks each. They damn near 30 in the store !!!!! Now is a bad mom? Idnt think so 😝😝😎
Breastfeeding information and tips
This is a post I've made to help women who are thinking of breastfeeding, or are breastfeeding and may have some questions about breastfeeding. It is also aimed to help women who may be experiencing problems with breastfeeding and may need to know how to deal with these problems because most breastfeeding problems can be sorted.
The word "hubby". ?
