This may be stupid to ask but I have a scheduled c section May 10. My Dr has also looked after my two other sisters during pregnancy and has done the pelvic exam at 37 weeks. Both my sisters had their kids vaginally so my question is if I have a scheduled C-section will I still get a pelvic exam to see where the baby is?? I'm kinda scared to do one bc my sister had hers done at 37+2 and her Dr said she had a few more weeks to go and she had the baby the next day. I just want to last until May 10!

You can refuse a pelvic exam. I'm not sure why he would even suggest it.

No, more than likely you will not have one. I only had a check with my 1st when I went past my due date. I'm on baby #4 and it will be my 2nd scheduled section and no checks were necessary.

He hasn't suggested I have one. I know when he does them bc of my sisters. I'm just wondering if it's standard to have one even with a scheduled c section...

Thank you. I hope my Dr is that way bc I don't want it done unless it's absolutely necessary.

If he asks to do one, you can refuse if you're nervous about it. ?

At 37 weeks my dr started asking if I wanted to be checked for dilation. I simply said no thank you and that was it. If he does offer it, there should be no problem if you turn it down.

All doctors are different. My Dr does checks and I have a scheduled c section. If you don't want it done just tell them No. GL!
