Help me please
So I'm having an issue with df. Our dd is 2 weeks old today and I had an emergency c-section. Well I'm still sore and for the first week I could barley get around my tiny apartment alone let alone anywhere outside. So last night were on our way to see babygirl bc she is in nicu. Well I waited for him to get home and he says why don't you just go to the hospital and I'll meet you up there after work. I have NO problem doing that except Im only 2 weeks pp and I don't want to pass out or something. Its hot and it still painful for me when I walk. So I tell him I can I just didn't want to take chances the first week bc of all the problems I had faced. ( she was only 31 weeks gestation, I developed anemia, and my incision rippled open) So df gets mad and says I have an attitude. Well I didn't say anything back I just continued about my day. Then he asks me again and I said I didn't want to take a chance being alone on the bus in the heat and he says yeah whatever. Again I dont say anything. We get to the hospital and see babygirl. Everything was fine. We get home and I hadn't taken any pain meds bc I had a drink the night b4 so I take one and we lay down. Well this morning about 5-6 I get up with some pain in the incision area and I was like ouch when I turned over and he's like what's wrong so I tell him my incision is hurting. He gets up and says its always something! And I flipped out half asleep still and told him you f*** ing get your stomach cut into and then tell me your not having problems with pain only two weeks later! And he really said I'm being rude for saying that. First off, if im being a b**** its bc you don't understand what my damn body has gone through! He's never had surgery. He didn't have to say that crap either. Am I being unreasonable for saying that?? I believe I have every right to say that! Especially after not saying s*** the first few times he's said something. I mean I have a damn wound that is healing but its not the fastest process. What is his damn problem!? I'm upset. I'm going to meet him today at the hospital when he gets off. I'm still in incredible pain. So now I have to wait to take any pain meds bc ill be alone.

Yep, he's being a jerk. Sorry.

Being a jerk! Maybe take him to a dr appointment and have them explain. My husband thinks I'm a drama queen (when it comes to pain) so he always thinks I'm over exaggerating

Maybe he just doesn't want your baby to spend so much time alone? Perhaps if he thinks you go there first she'll have her mom there for longer rather than just waiting.

:( at the beginning even so much as a cough or laugh can be enough to feel excruciating pain. If it's somewhat of an option I would take a cab, no way on hell you would've caught me taking a damn hot bus that might be crowded and you'd have to stand if noone gives you a seat.
He is being a complete a****** . I have also had 2emergebcy sections and the recovery is noooo joke. You have to take it easy as well or the recovery time will be even longer.
He might be under some stress because LO is in hospital but it is no excuse to treat you like that. I think you were being quite nice lol. You kept it real, if he had been cut into, organs shifted around and then stapled or stitched back up, yeah I bet he would like some compassion too.
He needed to be checked so I am glad you said something. He owes you the apology.
Sorry he's being an a****** . :/
I would suggest having a very calm convo with him and explain to him exactly what your body went through and that your body needs time to recover or there could be major complications.
Good luck

I think men have an issue when it's not all about them. Tell him to grow up & be a man instead of a big over grown baby!

@melody I don't even want my baby their! I mean that lil girl is my whole world right now. But I'm in las Vegas where temps reach well over 110 and that's a cool day bc it gets up to 117 easy. I love seeing my dd but the walk from my place to the bus stop is painful. The incision already ripped open. I just want him with me when I'm going in case something else goes wrong with me. I have other medical conditions. The incision is very worrying to me. This crap hurts!
I wish I had the money to take a cab that would be so much better then having to wait and take a chance on standing.

I would tell him just that. If he still doesn't understand, ignore him. He'll never get it.

Girl I'm telling you he never will. Iv told him how much it hurts b4. He witnessed me crying my eyes out bc it hurt so bad and he said some s*** like that. I'm still upset as well. Plus with my anemia and surgery I have huge bruises all over bottom half of body. He noticed them b4 I did so he just being a jerk. Men will never know what us women have to go through just to have our babies.

Maybe tell him you have no issue going alone but he needs to give you some money to take a cab. I don't know about your city but in mine people are rude and selfish when it comes to seats on public transit.
If all else fails, take lots of water along and just be very very careful. Good luck I hope he smartens up.

@Ianna (sorry if spelling is wrong) people here are very rude. I always give my seat to elderly, pregnant women, or kids. they dont do that though. You have mostly high schoolers riding the buses here. And most take up two seats and won't move when you ask for the other seat. And a cab would cost us too much a day. So I will deal with buses for my baby. But going alone worries me. I think I'll call my mom and talk to her till I get their and let her know my locations at different times on the way in case of emergency.

Oh OP I'm sorry ? I lived in Vegas- I wouldn't want you on bus, period. People there are sooooo rude!! I hope he becomes enlightened, and widens up!

I'm so sorry you are going through that, that pain is unbearable and then to add someone acting like an insensitive jerk makes it worse. On top of your baby being in he NICU and not in your belly or your arms. I had ppd symptoms weeks following my daughters birth not to mention anxiety and of course pain. He needs to be understanding that your physical pain is intense and also links to the emotions of having a preterm delivery. He needs to be more understanding and stop acting like a child, sometimes men mask their feelings by being jerks. I would tell him he needs to give you some cab money, you need to see your daughter and you need to do it safely. I really hope things get better, try talking to him and see if he is having trouble with baby girl in the NICU. My DF had a really hard time when our girl was in the NICU and he would lash out but he admitted he didn't know how to handle his feelings.

I'm really curious though what method did they use to close your incision and was it horizontal on the outside and the inside or a vertical classical inside?
deleted-user·
He is being a jerk. Maybe he doesn't know how to handle his frustration for LO being in the NICU. If you've never been faced with this problem before its hard to tell how each person would react to the situation. Don't let him walk all over you but remember he's got feelings too and maybe he can't express his sadness and he's turning it to anger. no excuse to be that rude but something to think about

Umm u had major surgery. That fool would be crying for his mama if he had a sore toe. I can't believe he'd be insensitive and stupid enough to try and make u take the bus. What an ass. Sorry your so is so damn stupid op.
One more thing. If he refuses to understand offer to stab him in the belly and see how he likes walking around.

Thank you ladies. I made it there safely last night. And I told him I never want to do that again till I'm feeling better. I think he understood a little bit bc I was livid! He just said Ok I'm sorry. But he wasn't mean about it this time. Maybe he is just having a hard time. I want to talk to him about it. But honestly I have no idea where to begin.
PP my incision was the bikini cut. And they stapled me and then removed them 5 days later. They put these steri strips on and I opened up again. Thank god no infection. I thought I was going to die. I can be a drama queen sometimes especially when it comes to pain. But this pain is no joke. Its not fun.

Yes he is being a real jerk smh u just went thru all these months creating his baby in ur body and on top of tht had to get cut to get it out.. He needs to be more understanding of what just happen to you and needs to kno your gonna need all the help ex specially from him you can get. I've never had a c section or surgery either but even before I became a parent I knew women go thru a lot with they body and if tht includes mkn him happy by having his child then hey but I think u should show him videos of the type of consequences of problems tht can happen after a c section maybe he'll start to be more understanding just maybe
