Guilty.
I just let my 11 1/2 month old son CIO for 10 minuets in his crib. He's sounds asleep but I feel horrible. I work 6pm-2am and my husband lets him fall asleep in his swing until I get home at 2:30am. By then he's ready to nurse so I take a shower and bring him to bed with us. I can't sleep train in 2 days but I don't get any sleep if he's in bed with us ☹️☹️
If you're both going to commit to the crib, I don't see 10 min for an almost 1 year old as detrimental. If you're going to keep going back and forth between bed, crib and swing, not fair to baby at all.
Just my thoughts on it but you've had 11 months to get this baby comfortable and secure in a crib - it's not going to be any easier as he gets older.
You need to do whatever works for you. We as mothers always thinks our own methods are the best but it's what works best for you, your life schedule and your family.
My DD is almost 1.5 years old and I too felt extremely guilty after doing the CIO method. I anticipated it being a long and dreadful process but luckily it only took her 2 days to get her use to sleeping in her crib alone.
I respect other mothers' methods. As long as baby isn't harmed, then I think, "to each his own".
Hopefully you can plan around your schedule and it all turns out ok. It won't last long but I agree with the other comment, if you don't stick to whichever method, it's just a waste of time. Good luck momma :)
