baby food rant
Ivan is 7 1/2 months old, 20lbs, 28 1/2 inches long and has zero interest in food. He hates rice cereal (I've mixed it with breast milk, formula and even pears). He absolutely hates it. Yesterday at his routine check up his pediatrician yelled at me because I'm not shoving food and water down his throat. He is exclusively breastfed with the exception of one bottle of formula on nights I work (when I can't pump enough at work). She said the reason why he isn't sleeping though the night is because he's "not getting enough calories from breast milk ". She also told is that she expects him to be eating three meals a day PLUS water by his 9 month check up. Seriously??? I'm beyond frustrated.
He sounds like he's growing and gaining weight great. I would avoid rice cereal though. Ds is 9 months and only likes a handful of foods and at 7 months he barely touched any foods at all except like 3 maybe. He's slowly liking more and eating more. Don't force it. Food before one is just for fun. Maybe try BLW
Thanks for all the positive responses ladies. Its been a frustrating few days. I'm in the process of looking for a new pediatrician
Don't force it. Not all babies are ready to eat at the same time. Ds was absolutely not ready at 6 months. He cried. I got a mesh baby strainer (I don't know of a better way to describe it) and put bananas and then avocados in it. It let him practice having something in his mouth that wasn't a bottle or nipple, and get used to other flavors. After a month I tried him on solids again. This time, he took to them. However, he has always hated Rice Cereal. I use the Gerber Oatmeal to thicken his purees if I need to. I also toss in our food when we are eating in very very small bites. He's 9 months now and loves food, but will still refuse it at times. They're little, they're learning. Don't stress him out. It will happen. I don't know of many 30 year olds who are still on bottles or breastmilk.

My husband and I aren’t exactly strangers when it comes to relationship challenges 💞. We have been together for 14 years and married for eight, so we’ve definitely gone through some growing pains as we navigated a long-distance relationship in college and our first year living together as a married 👫 couple.
But nothing has challenged our relationship quite like our first year as 👪 parents .

Dad's FB Video!!
Did anyone see that video a dad posted on his daughters FB page? He saw a post she made where she bashed her parents and cursed them, called them lazy and told them they should pay her for stuff she did around the house... So he called her out on it and put the video on her page!! Sorry if I missed a post already about this already, but I just saw the video and IT WAS AWESOME!!! Hahahhaa!

“You look too young to be a mom!”
Or how about …
“You have a BABY? No! You look like a baby yourself!”👶
Oh wait, here’s a good one …
“Are you the nanny, ooor … ?”
“No, yeah I’m his mom,” I’d reply. “Yes, I am young,” I’d agree.
Considering I got pregnant straight out of college, I was certainly on the younger end of the parenting spectrum. (No one was more surprised than me, I assure you.) And yet, I wasn’t exactly a teen mom. I wasn’t juggling school courses and motherhood, like so many s...
I posted the day before yesterday about my friend.. & well....... her fiancé came over, AND she came alone 😐 we eat sit around and after awhile my husband takes him to the back & the next thing I know he’s coming in the house with a weird look on his face, asking her if there was something he should know, I instantly gets up just in case someone turns into a maniac....... well long story short he cried & told her how disloyal she is & how disappointed he was.. she’s crying asking me why would I ...
My almost 9 month old just started to show real interest in food. But still food before one is just for fun. They do not need it, nor do they need water. I'd say he's doing fine.
