U can buy a product that u spray your shower down with after every time u shower to keep lime and hard water from building up .it called daily shower cleaner and u don't have to scrub, just spray it on after u get out of shower. it works amazing actually I've recommended it to my customers and cleaning their showers has become much easier!

Also for already built up hard water use lime-away and a magic eraser. Let the limeaway sit for a couple minutes then scrub then rinse . after that as long as u use a daily shower cleaner u should no longer have any problems ?

Only two options I know of are a filtered shower head or a whole house reverse osmosis system.

You can get Calgon to add to your washer so it doesn't affect your clothes.
