Long story
Hi. I am a clomid patient who had twins 2 years ago. We are currently 15 weeks pregnant, clomid pregnancy again. On early ultrasound, only one baby was visible so I never thought much of it as my twins were visible as early as 5 weeks. I went on curious to see how a single pregnancy will go on for me ( my twin pregnancy was very hard). Today, at 15 weeks, I woke with cramps and all ( long story). Having history of short cervix ( 100% thinned out by 24 weeks), my Dr send me to triage to check on the cervix. At first, the midwife looked for the heartbeat with a doppler. Found it on left side instantly, loud and clear. I was surprised since my Dr always finds it on the right. Once I told her, she moved about 4 inches to the right and found another, loud and clear heart beat. I asked if it is possible if it is an echo. She said yes, but echos typically arent as loud ( u will find one loud and one distant if its echo, how she explained it). However, she said refused to scan me since Im having an ultrasound with my Dr tomorrow ( yes, Im complaining about her tomorrow but thats besides the point). So now, my question is, did any of u have that happen? Thought it was one then they heard to hearts and it turned out twins?

Yes, I found out at 18 weeks. I had an early ultrasound at 5-6 weeks, and only saw one. At each appointment, we found one heartbeat. (looking back, probably because that's all we were looking for.) we went in for the 18 week anatomy/gender scan, and they immediately saw two babies.
The thing that gets me, is I had just mentioned the week earlier to my OB that, while I wasn't huge, I was definitely bigger than normal at this stage of pregnancy. (this is my fourth pregnancy). She basically blew me off saying it was because its my fourth, I'm just popping earlier. When we found out it was twins, she actually came in to the ultrasound room and apologized for not finding it earlier and for basically blowing me off.

Thank you! Were yours missed bc of being in same sac? Or second sac was missed? Bc mine were in two sacs and both sacs were so visible, its hard for me to understand how second sack could be missed ( and clomid just increases fraternal twins chances, not identical). Heart beats being found so far apart, as early as 15 weeks, would indicate two separate sacks to me so im like theres no way. But at the same time, only one side of my belly was ever checked ( ultrasound and heart beats)

I know there are a few in this current group of ladies that have. One I think found out at 18 weeks. Forgot who it was though.
