Detangling
Today's hair washing day, which means I have to detangle my ratted up hair. I don't even know where to start at this point. My knots are so close to the scalp since it's been in a bun for a few days. It's going to be a bad one. ? Fack.
Not your mothers brand clean shampoo makes my hair so manageable and I really get knots after using it but I've been having a hard time finding it lately.
Also when my hair knots because of a bun, it's only at my scalp and the rest of my hair is tangle free so it's clearly the hairstyle and not because I let my hair get too tangled. I swear some people just have to be right, righteous and on their high horse about the silliest things.
When I would go awhile between washes, I would buy the "untangling spray" they have for kids. It greased up your hair a lot, but it does help. I would douse my hair with that then comb through it slowly. Get it all out (it would be super gross) then shower and shampoo a couple of times.
Lol
Mane and tail is what I used on my horses. I then seen it in the shampoo isle at Wal-Mart (I usually buy at rural king)
And I started using it. It gave my hair a HUGE growth spurt.

Show shine!!!
It's an awesome detangler it is for horses . I put it on mine before we do shows because it makes her shiney ???
But has to use on my hair one time and the tangles came right out!!
This happens to me so often, sometimes I get so frustrated trying to get the knots out I cry. Usually if I know it's a bad on I put it a ton of conditioner where the knots are. Then let it stay in for like 15 min. It still sucks but not as bad, or I try and brush my hair before I get in the shower. Then when I get out and it's wet it's easier. Good luck
Not your mothers hair detangle spray is awesome! My hair knots up so easily I can be driving and it will get all knotted from my head touching my seat. Basically I can look at my hair and it gets tangles. But the not your mothers products have been a huge help with my hair!
I'm not going sit here and justify my damn knots. ? Your hair has never knotted where your bun sits, congratulations!! Mine did, and has many times in the past. ?♀️
You said your knots are to your scalp/ it's been in a bun for a few days??♀️ In my opinion that's letting it get like that. Everyone else who also feels like oh my hair knots for no reason- really- all the way to your scalp? Ok??? Might need a different line of products and process was all I'm saying. I have crazy hair- it doesn't get knotted to my scalp thank God... probably because I don't "let it".
? "let" my hair. I'll try reasoning with it next time. And it's been in buns because I have to wear it up at work and I've had doubles the past three days. Shat happens ?♀️
My hair comes out tangled from a braid. If I have it loose for the day it will be tangled. It will get matted tangled if I put it in a bun for 2 days in a row and sometimes that's all I have time to do. Not exactly like I go out to do it on purpose.
OP I hope the marinating worked lol. I know that pain ?
Not in a rude way but why would you even let it get that way in the first place? I have tight curls too. When I'm conditioning in the shower I always wash my hair first, then condition and do everything after so the conditioner can sit for a while. I use Paul Mitchell's The Detangler on it on top of whatever conditioner I use. Let it sit for a while, then use the big tooth combs and start from the bottom up. As you get through it apply more conditioner to the untangled parts so it stays sleek. Once you get through your whole head rinse it, but have a leave in conditioner close by and apply that and clip up your hair. Finish showering and when you get out run the comb through your hair again and learn to give yourself a braid. Doesn't need to be a French, full head braid just enough from the back of the head so the hair doesn't have a chance to tangle back up. If I just let my hair be up tied for more than a day half of it would probably fall out once I started detangling and the other half would be broken and dry and gross. Since I like my hair I try to avoid that.
It's thick, coarse, long with a mix of 3a and 3b curls. If I could French braid it I would in a heart beat, but I suck at it lol
What hair texture do you have? Most hair benefits from a good conditioner soak and if your hair isn't brittle, brush under the shower head. My hair knots really bad when up on a bun, but with hair to my bum, I need to get it out of my face, so I do one or two braids. I find it doesn't get so tangled before wash day if I braid both mine and Ivys hair. My hair is straight and wavy. Hers is loosely curly and wavy.
Start with conditioning your hair then begin with combing out your ends slowly first then proceed all the way up to your scalp. Go rinse out all that extra hair then repeat. Good luck girl.
Btw we bought one of those Michael Mercier detangling brushes and it's amazing!
