Postpartum hair loss

I had it with my son so bad. Like clumps of hair would fall out when I would detangle my hair. It was always getting matted too since my hair is so thick. I know it's because of hormones so it's going to happen regardless but has anyone found anything that helped? It hasn't starting yet, but I'm sure it will soon.

I think it varies a lot. I had it bad with my first starting almost right after my oldest was born. My youngest is already 2 months and I haven't had it start so I'm not sure if this time I won't have it.

Keep taking your prenatal vitamins.

?

I'm having this issue right now. It's soooo bad. I hope someone gives some good suggestions. I bought Hairfinity pills like someone here suggested to me but I can't take them while breastfeeding!

I'm still taking the prenatal vitamins since I'm eping. I'm sure that help a bit. Would a hair and nail vitamin help or are those even safe when bfing?

I actually saw my derm for this. She told me to take a shampoo behind the counter called DHS Zinc to help from it falling out & it did. You can get it on Amazon for $17 orcWalgreens for $20, 16 oz bottle. I would check to make sure it's safe during BF.

The biggest thing that slows it is continuing to take prenatal vitamins. I shed horribly after each pregnancy but if I remember my vitamins it's not drastic amounts.

Jamaican black castor oil massages. It's impossible to find time to massage my scalp but it REALLY helps. I did it everyday if I had the time. I have a TON of thick hair so you couldn't really tell except around the temples.

I'll have to try black castor oil!! I used it to help grow my hair a few years ago and it make my hair grow something fierce!! I have the same thing, the only place you maybe could tell was the temples. That was fun when all those baby curls came back... ?

I think mine started at like 3 months @pp. Honestly not sure the norm though.

Will your Mom be in the delivery room?

Will your Mom be in the delivery room? My mom made it sound like she was gonna be in the delivery room when I give birth, and quite frankly, I would just like it to be me and my fiancé. It's our first, and I want to share that special moment with just him. I don't want to hurt her feelings, and I know this is something she would really like to be a part of. So I feel bad telling her no.
