Fml... just f*** my wholeeeee existence. Glass dish just exploded in the oven. Mamas going to need to pump and dump…

This happened to me about a month ago! Soooooo annoying!! Plus I had to unscrew the bottom of the stove and take it out to clean out all the glass. Needless to say I threw away all my Pyrex pans.

But i would still eat that....

I'm already paranoid about putting a hot glass dish on granite, now I have to worry about this?!

It cleaned up pretty well. I went over it again today. After I finish cooking tonight, I'll take some baking soda and vinegar to the insulation in the corners and bottom. I'll post a picture.

This happened to my mom with a measuring cup! She was warming up water in the microwave and when it was done she pulled it out and hot water went all over her chest along with broken glass!

I've had a glass dish pop and shatter when it was hot still and my mommy brain put it in the sink and ran cold water on it. ? I swear, I thought someone let off a round in my house. It was so loud! I hate using glass dishes now. I hope you enjoyed your wine and threw your oven away. ?

Oh no! Dont feel bad, i once exploded an apple pie because i set it on top of the stove and then turned on the wrong burner. It was a mess ?

It happened at a thanksgiving dinner with the turkey! We ended up ordering chicken. My friend's plate was new so we think it might have had a crack or something.

I knew it could happen, just never thought it actually would lol It was so loud too. Don't think I'll ever be able to use glass in the oven again, may get flashbacks of nam ??

Wow! I'm sorry, that sucks! Those were gonna be delicious too I can just tell. I didn't realize glass will explode in the oven. I've never heard of this happening before. I've used a glass 9x13 pan a zillion times. I may have to rethink using it.

No the food was actually hot still since it was cook on the stovetop. Maybe the dish had a hairline crack or something. I don't know. I got most of it cleaned off.

All I can think is that stuffed tomatoes sound amazing ? I can't have stuffed green peppers, I'm allergic to them ?

I would throw it out if it wasn't a brand new oven. Two months old it's never going to be the same. ?

I stuff them with ground turkey, onions, mushrooms and rice. I only had wild rice so that's the dark stuff you see. Cut out the insides and put them and a few basil leaves in a food processor. Add that to the pan of turkey, mushrooms, and onions once they're browned. Add the rice once it's cooked, mix and stuff the tomatoes with it. Cook for a bit until the tomatoes are a little wrinkly then add cheese on top and brown the cheese. Sometimes we sup ground lamb instead of the turkey, it's so much better. Turkeys cheaper though ?

I have to vote for pizza, wine and a new oven too.

Ugh. That sucks. Its been years and im still terrified to use glass pans in the oven after one time i took one out of the oven and it exploded all over my kitchen.

Is it bad that I want to suggest buying a new oven over cleaning that mess??

Damn that sucks, I agree with lots of pizza and wine. Ice cream too.

It doesn't help now but for future reference always fully preheat the oven first, and never higher than 450 degrees. According to the directions for my Pyrex anyway. Not sure it the same goes for all brands.

That food likes like it was going to be so tasty too...Dang, I wouldn't know where to begin.

Yup, it was oven safe... well it was supposed to be. I have no clue how it even happened. I put it in the oven when it was still preheating too. Like where the f*** do I even start with this mess lol
