I'm pretty sure my washer just kicked the bucket. First it made almost like a whistling noise, but that noise quit pretty quickly. That was replaced by the most soul crushing metal or metal grinding noise. We just got out of the paycheck to paycheck cycle a few months ago and looks like we will be right back there. We have been putting money aside for tires for my car since it is in like dire need. But there goes the rest of the savings. I know I'm lucky enough to be able to have that saving in the first place but it still sucks. Looks like I'll be hand washing cloth diapers for the next few days to weeks ? pity party for one please ??

Some stores that sell washers and driers will sell you a refurbished one at deeply discounted prices. I know we have a place locally that does that with all their appliances. You just have to ask because they don't advertise it.

Also check resale shops. They get them in at times.
I just sold my old set for $200.
