Yes! I was just about to update! So the cops were there earlier again (have been the past two days) He got kicked out by the cops tonight and his ex wife moved back in the house. She has taken over everything and he has to pay a fine for neglect of the dog, she now has the dog and took her to the vet two days ago and she looks fine (as the vet says), started her on some kind of food to make her gain weight. She was giving her a bath outside earlier also. Apparently he has trashed the house and left for days at a time binge drinking. So good news is that the dog is fine, the husband is out of the house per the cops and she got full custody of their son.

Any update?

Do whatever you can to get this dog out of his care. If it was my neighbour I would probably walk over and take the dog myself and gladly deal with any repercussions. I hope you can get through to someone to save him. Please keep us updated! Good for you for not ignoring it like some "people" would do. You're a good person!!

For sure call non emergency line. That is just so wrong! Poor little pup. I hate when ppl wrong animals, they're just so damn defenseless!

PLEASE make sure you call a NO KILL SHELTER or PIT RESCUE.

Pit bulls rarely get adopted from regular shelters and they'll prob put him/her down.

Is there a pitbull rescue by you? They're always full but if you provide them with the photos, they usually get involved somehow.

Omg that poor baby. I'm so glad you were there to help! I hope the police press charges. This is animal neglect and cruelty. Did they say if they were going to charge the owner? And I use the term owner loosely here.

Unfortunately due to the breed, if you call a shelter the pup wouldn't have much of a chance. Id call a non kill shelter and a non emergency contact and explain exaclty what you have witnessed.

When I made the post I had just left. When I got where I was going I called. I just wasnt sure because I couldn't call animal control they wouldn't do anything with another neighbor a year or so ago, because the dog wasn't out. Thats why I was asking. I called the non emergency and they gave me to the humane society and they will keep in touch. I do have pics of the living situation also.

I would call the non emergency police number. In some places animal abuse is a crime and he could be arrested. If not, they'll let you know if you should call animal control or another resource. That poor doggy :(
