No I hate regular mushrooms. These are squishy but when friend get crispy and hard. Regular mushrooms stay mushy I think.

Do they taste like regular mushroom / have the same texture?

The are soft. When you fry them up they get crispy like fried pickles :) SO GOOD.

No poisoning just amazing to eat! Lol. Mix them up with flour, salt and pepper and fry them in butter. They are AMAZING.
