WHY??

First, I love my husband and he is awesome. BUT.....I don't understand why, when I ask for an hour alone... CAN THAT NOT HAPPEN. I just wanted to take a shower and blow dry and straighten my hair. I am home all day everyday with our almost 3 year old and our 1 month old. I just want a little time alone, not too much to ask I don't think. As soon as I get in the shower, our son is in there. "Mommy what are you doing?" "Can I get in?" So I yell for my husband and he comes and gets him. Then as soon as I get out and haven't even put on the towel he hands me our daughter and is like she won't stop fussing. So I was like did she drink all her bottle? He said yes, so I said diaper changed? He said yes. I was like ok maybe she's still hungry give her a little more. Hes like can you do it please, take her i dont know what to do. I told him i do this all day everday you can do this for 1 hour. So he finally feeds her 1 more oz and then she's fine. I don't understand why it can't be done on his own. Why do you need me to tell you? She's rooting around and you know she's still hungry, so why don't you feed her? Where is the initiative ladies? Ugh. Just a little rant because it's super frustrating. I'm fine now but my goodness just 1 hour! Lol

My SO is pretty good at taking care of our dd's. BUT he's so stupid sometimes. Like if he fed dd2 3 oz and she's still hungry, he'll say "no, she had 3oz, she had plenty"

I'm like are you serious? Babies don't cry because of nothing and they certainly don't eat just because!! If she's still hungry after drink 3 oz, give her more!!

dd2 is 2 months, so she's certainly not eating just because

When Dd was in that fussy stage (under 3 months), Dh thought the only answer was my boobs. He would literally stand outside the shower or sit on the bed with her, while she screamed. ? After I snapped a few times about needing 20 minutes of alone/quiet time, he figured it out, lol.

Dd is 1 and this still happens. He literally would sit on the toilet with her and wait for me to get out of the shower. I flipped. Just yesterday I asked him to watch her so I could shower. She was in there 80% of the time. ??

It's normal. They try things on their own and when they see it's not working they run to mom. They need some confidence. My husband always helped but he'd be lost most times. I left him alone with the baby for a few hours he had to figure things out on his own. I got home he was beat. And told me he doesn't know how I do it by myself all day. Now he feels more confident because he had a taste of how things are for me so he helps a lot. I mean he still struggles with some things like this morning when he put babys shoes on the wrong feet. But he tries ??

I could leave the house whenever I wanted to - I work full time and would go to happy hours or the gym. But getting uninterrupted alone time in the house was a completely different story.

Sometimes I leave the kids with hubby and go somewhere. I also "leave my phone in the car in accident" ..... I really don't but I won't answer if he calls.

Wait, alone time is a real thing? ?

What is up with BB knowing my life?!?!

The only gripe I ever had with DH when DD1 was first born was needing time to straighten my hair on Sundays. It takes me longer because I roller set, but the same exact process with him showing up in the doorway. And my DH knew what to do, but just acted as though nothing but my boobs could soothe her. No! Walk with her if she gets fussy. She loved a good walk around the house and would relax enough to sleep until the next feeding.

Stop knowing my lyfe, y'all!

My friends are having a cookie party and asked me to go. Perfect couple hours for him to practice being alone! Lol

Ugh my hubby does the same thing with our DS he is one month old. He can only handle it for a few mins and asks for me to take him. My son is having tummy problems so he is extra fussy. I am the only one that can calm him.

That is frustrating! Maybe do it more often and make him get use to it! My husband is just naturally good with babies and just a confident person. I'm sure I had to teach him stuff at first but after two he has no trouble! I have babysat a 1yo since she was born full time (me and DH friend from schools baby) and some days when she wouldn't stop crying he would just take her and do it just to help me and did the same with my kids. I guess since he's not around it as much he has more patience lol I think more alone time sounds about right for him lol

I'd so write him a "babies for dummies" list and tell him he's not to come get you unless everything on that list has been attempted! Gah! That would so frustrate me.

My Dh used to always take them to his moms ?

Seriously, you are going to have to actually leave the house. Maybe 'forget' your phone. He'll survive, and itll be good for all 3 of them!

Yes! I should leave and go do something. I just need away for a little bit when I'm with the kids 24/7. I'm used to working so now that I'm not going to, I'm going to need time away for sure!

Next time leave the house for an hour. If you're physically apart from them then your hubby will have to learn to figure it out himself! The more you do it the better he'll get at it ??

Idk! My son is fed, changed and dressed, etc before I give him to DH because I know this will happen if I don't do it.

Maybe he just needs more practice to gain some confidence in caring for the kids. Try leaving the house for an hour so he has no choice! lol I know I know, wishful thinking.

When I take two hours per MONTH to myself to get my mani and pedi, DH still brings our son to my MIL house!! ?

I guess I just don't understand because if it needs to be done, I just do it. Lol

My sons father was like this. It was so frustrating, i pray my SO will be a little more hands on. Cause damn....

MEN!!!! ? I joke sometimes and call my husband my 3rd child because his common sense doesn't exist ....

My husband also needs reassurance on what to do. Once I laid out everything that needed dumped into the crock pot while I was at work. He had to call 3 times to make sure he was doing it right. It literally all went in at the same time until you're ready to eat ? imagine how many calls I get about ds too. Yesterday he texted me and said "he's still napping what should I do?" Um..enjoy the extra free time he's giving you lol.
