Went and got new tires today. They were closing so when my husband went out to check the tires, he saw this... We called and of course no one answered and they wouldn't answer the door. We know that they have to know they did this. How ridiculous is this for them not to say anything. I am calling first thing in the morning and we took pictures before we drove it with the tire and lube in the background. Also noticed they went through my middle console. Just dissapointed that people suck so bad.
I understand that they are just hubcaps but they are ford factory ones that are bolted on and look like actual rims. So they are going to be expensive to replace because they are factory.
Even if it's was your air freshener they destroyed, they still owe you an explanation, an apology, and replacements. My dad is a Ford mechanic and I know that they would make this right before ever sending it home with you. Also are you 100% sure they saw and didn't think it was already there? Try and give them the benefit of the doubt but def they need to replace them.
There was no way it was there before, my husband used to be a tire salesman and mechanic so he checks everything. My husband said they probably thought they were rims so they put it on the tire machine and cracked it. That is a pretty big crack to not notice that you have done.
When he was changing the tire the tire tool caught it when spinning on the machine. It happens all the time but they still should've told you about it and offered to fix it. I'd be pissed that they didn't even mention it to you guys.
I know. So ridiculous, I actually went through my car and took out all the important stuff. I have a pill bottle from a bladder infection in there and when I cleaned it out I fixed it and made it all nice. So I looked when we got home and the pill bottle was laying on top of all of pictures, when I know I put everything under the pictures and put them on top.
Well my husband worked selling tires, being a mechanic, being a tire and lube guy and he knows all the different tools and he said there is a hook you use to take off hubcaps. You can clearly see at the top of the hubcap the two marks the same size as the tool and cracked all the way down. So they definitely did it, someone who was probably inexperienced and didn't know they were held on with the lugnuts. Which btw my husband told the guy at the desk that's how they were held on.
My parents own Dunlop and Goodyear autocare franchises here in Aus as well as 3 family named tyre companies. My mum runs the show and I'm telling you now. Someone would of lost their job over this stunt if it was one of her customers. That's just not on. Hubcaps or not. Go in there tomorrow and demand to see the boss.
So I called over and spoke to the manager and he says that the technician is not there today and that he has to investigate this so there's no way that we will have an answer today. I let him know the entire situation and that it was not there before and he just said that he has to talk to his technician first. So no real answers yet... so frustrating.
So they are going to replace it, but we have to go find it and but it and then bring the receipt back to them so they can pay us back. I guess it's better than nothing but still stupid nonetheless.

Yeah that's exactly what they did. But they are hubcaps you just take off the lugnuts... not put it on the tire machine.

Yes it does. My husband is calling this morning.

You could have had a stress fracture in your rim and it cracked when they put the tires on.
It could go either way with who's fault it is. Sorry tho! That sucks

Yeah we are definitely not letting this go. I am not sure if my husband called yet or not, but I will find out by lunch time.
