Idk what your religion is but I'm Catholic and St. Michael along with several others are said to defend us in battles against the devil and evil. I would get him a blessed necklace or bracelet with St. Michael and start asking St Michael to join in with your prayers. Just in case. I know you said your son is back to normal, but I would do it anyway.

My sister said my niece told her the "deffil" (which we translated to "devil") was talking to her and she didn't like him and wanted him to stop taking to her. This was the same advice I gave my sister.

Everyone has really good answers. Is your son baptized? Talk to him lots and lots about God, be sure to pray with him and around him. Evil hates when people are deep In faith... It will eventually go away, pray hard to God about it. I've always believed, but last year when I invited God into my life everyday, started praying/talking to him everyday, evil started showing up. Mostly through people that I know, enough that a good handful of people got cut out of my life. Toxic. It will get better, the devil is constantly fighting but Jesus beat him already. Iv had a full body rash for the past 3 days (I think it's from cheap hair dye) so we haven't left the house.

My grandmother invited us out to lunch today and WA-LAH!

Renzo is back to normal completely. He is back to talking and he stopped the tongue clicking. Were at a Chinese restaurant now.

God is stronger than the dark forces of the world and they have already been beaten. Maybe they're sore losers, but absolutely cling to Him and ask for protection and guidance. Pray over your house. Make it a place of peace and refuge. You can go to God with all kinds of requests and He hears you. Just ask. Or beg. Whatever. I've asked for protection by angels before when I felt like I just needed someone stronger than me in the house. He'll hear you.

If he's suddenly having lack of words he's had before I'd take him to get checked out just in case

Scary..every time I start praying again or try to become religious, bad stuff starts happening to me so I get where you're coming from.

Burn sage like pp said and maybe look up prayers and practices to make bad spirits go away.

I wish I could see demons on other people's backs lol so I'd know to stay away from them
