A pony tail is going to make my son gay!

So it's not okay for them to say he might be gay but it's okay for you to call him a girl?

My dad used to wear a ponytail b4 he passed after 43 yrs of marriage and 7 kids I can safely say he is not gay lol my brother wears one now he's not gay ( I think he's a homophobic which sux kuz I'm bi) aside from that my nephew also had long hair he wore back he got bullied at school and cut it even tho he wanted it long :( its a sad world we live in

My boyfriend has hair that's past his chest. And he wears it in a pony tail. And he is no where near gay.

With that logic wouldn't it be just as easy to change how a gay person wears their hair and the type of clothes they wear to be more like straight person.....bc of course that would make them become straight, right?

I agree, a ponytail won't make him gay. I also agree that there's nothing wrong with being gay.

I do however feel that teasing him by calling him "mommy's little girl" could have some negative effects. I wouldn't joke about genders like that because the whole idea is that boys and men can wear ponytails too without being girly or trans or gay. Calling him a little girl could be confusing & make him feel unable to express himself. (Unlikely at 15 months, yes..but just a thought for the future).

They are very ignorant. Sorry I know thats your family. But honestly if I have a son I wouldn't cut his hair until he wants to and it would be in a ponytail when it got long enough. A ponytail isnt a big deal. Im native american my brother has longer hair than mine. It stays in a braid. And trust me he's far from gay.

My husband wears his hair in a pony tail most of the time. I'm 99.9% sure he's not gay.

Sometimes I give my son clean make up brushes and he rubs them on his face like me. 0.0 guess if he turns out to be a cross dresser it's my fault ?

At first I thought they were joking about being upset, but now it's at the point where even my uncle is complaining to my husband at work (they work together)

First off, how does a pony tail mean gay?

Second, I personally don't believe you teach gay and find it disrespectful that some would say that.

Third, what is their issue with gay? Who cares.

I would respond by saying two things. 1) wearing a pony tail won't make him gay 2) it's perfectly okay to be gay. People are ridiculous.

Lmao. Ive dressed my son in my nieces clothes. Hes 2 and that was just the other day. At this age they dont know gay or straight. They see everything as either a fun toy or something that makes mommy laugh and to them there is no difference between gender specific things.

It is ok to be gay! Just ignore them and their ignorance
