Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no, his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me and did something else with an other girl.... and it's 10:51 am now and he hasn't texted me at all. and after he dropped me off I texted him saying what I felt and nothing. I don't know if I'm over reacting or what or what should i do. do i wait until he text me?

If he's making a good income, you wouldn't qualify anyway. How odd to think public assistance helps you get ahead. I was a social worker, and if anything, it holds you back! I would just keep doing what you're doing. It's obviously working :)

I'm having a similar issue with my mom but nothing to do with food stamps as they don't have that in Canada as far as I know.
Mine wants me to apply for all these low income programs and I keep trying to explain to her that we are not low income thus will be denied. She just doesn't seem to get it. If I was low income sure I'd explore every avenue of getting help but we don't need it. We're thankfully doing well and I would rather not take something away from someone else who really needs it.

Good for you! I was told the same thing about wic by my boss during my first pregnancy because we hadn't gotten married yet. But my (now) husband paid for everything and we shared bank accounts and money. I felt like I would have been taking food out of the mouths of people that really needed the help.

I think just because you can get them doesn't mean you should. There are people who really need them and you are a good person for not getting them. Tell her to get food stamps

My mother in law had WIC with all of her children. Just got off of it with her last.. And went and got a $6000 boob job.
I guess that's what getting ahead in life means..
