I'm definitely going to give oxiclean a try.
I use suavitel fabric softener and dryer sheets and my clothes smell amazing after. No build up either but if you experience build up in your washer you can run a hot water cycle with vinegar or bleach and that will take care of the build up. For ring around the collar, SOAK the clothes in Oxy Clean for a few hours and then wash. Oxy clean is amazing for laundry stains.
Dryer sheets because fabric softener can gunk up your washer (that's what the salesman said that sold us our washer). I usually do 6 loads of laundry a week whenever I can get to it.
1. One or the other, it's all about preference. I like liquid because I love smell!
2. Agree with pp, pretreat.
3. I do it once a week, because I dont own a washer and dryer, but if I did I would just do it when the basket was full.
Boymama, do you notice a buildup on your clothes? I like super soft and good smelly, but I don't want my clothes to feel waxy. Do you notice this when using all three products?
1. Neither. Wool dryer balls work just as well, last forever, and decrease drying time which saves energy and money.
2. Pretreat. I like the oxy clean gel stick. It's blue.
3. Two or three times a week. I hate spending all day on it. Plus my husband wears scrubs for work and only owns six sets, and our son is potty training at the moment.
Haha. I think folding other people's laundry will become a chore.
I'm going to try to keep to a once a week schedule. Everyday may be too much.
Iris I have tons of free therapy at my house for ya lol. I get it though, I'm that way with dishes.
Back on topic, I use liquid fabric softener, scent boosting crystals & dryer sheets. I like stuff to smell good. I do our laundry once or twice a week depending on how many clothes my kids go through since they're constantly getting dirty
1. I prefer dryer sheets bc we have four cats and a dog, and they help to remove all the animal hair. White vinegar as a fabric softener in the rinse cycle if needed for smell removal.
2. Shout or spray n wash. Oxy clean works great as well.
3. Once a week unless we need clean clothes sooner. Same for towels and bedding.
1. One or the other. Both is unnecessary. I think the liquid is stronger though.
2. I use oxyclean spray. It's the max force kind. Blue bottle with red nozzle.
3. I do laundry every day.
If you need some extra therapy, feel free to come over. I have plenty of laundry for you to fold!
Laundry is therapeutic for me.. Especially the folding!
Thanks for your tips. Air drying is a great idea.
The easiest way to save on electric bills is to air dry when you can rather than use the dryer. And use cold water to wash. There's detergents specifically for cold water.
1. I use both. If you don't want to shell out for the liquid fabric softener, white vinegar works too.
2. I would use a stain spray. We use shout.
3. I do laundry once a week.
I hate laundry.

I use oxiclean for stains, the spray on small ones and I'll soak clothes in oxi In the washer if they are bad. I only use drier sheets and do laundry twice a week.
