Often times people are shocked when they learn the price of GOOD photography. You get what you pay for. These are our last years family photos. We paid $350 and we got 40 good usable images including exclusive rights. I hunted and hunted for months to find a photographer who would give me exclusive rights without making me pay out my ass. If your hiring a professional photographer your paying for an art. That's something worth remembering.
KoMy photographer charges are not as pricy as some of you have put like her new born pics are about 400$. She does this model photoshoot once in a blue moon where baby boutiques send her products for free in exchange for photos of newborns modeling the items. So she will ask for newborn baby's and give 5 free photos.
I've known her for awhile and she does all my photos so when she found out I was having a girl she purposefully waited for me to give birth to do the photos. She gave me 15 free pics which is more than she will do for others. She also give me discounts like this Xmas we are doing 6 month old pics and she usually charges 250 but she gives me the same time for 150...she gives me a digital disc of all the pictures no watermarks. When I post on Facebook I always tag her because people always ask where I got them done.
She is super creative and let's you do your poses and have tons of props.
The concept is super cute, and you can tell it was taken with a good camera despite BB compressing the image (mostly due the color saturation and focal points). But, I have to agree with pps that it doesn't look professional due to the framing IMO. Still, it's a very nice family photo :)
I paid $400 for maternity pictures and my daughters newborn pics were free because the photographer wanted to use her to model some newborn props. I was supposed to pay $200 for family Christmas pictures but the session ended up only lasting 30 minutes because it was getting dark and it was surprisingly cold, so she only charged $90. I also paid $2,300 for wedding pictures. I got what I paid for because all of my professional pictures are amazing.
They do! It also depends on the type of photographer and the look your going for. Some are strictly studio. I don't personally dig studio photos....I like what is called a Lifestyle Photographer. Most of the ideas were hers....except this one. I found this on pinterest and thought it was soooooo cute I had to recreate it. I only had a few specific requests. I wanted individual pics of the kids (she came up with the idea of having them hold a big card that had their name in the same color as the shirt) and I wanted babywearing photos. Other then that she did the rest.
We are doing Star Wars for our next pictures...which will have to wait until spring. They are going to be rad!
I was told I would get "great deal" for our maternity pics Bc it was a friend of ours wife. She overcharged us a ridiculous amount. Didn't let me do any of the poses I wanted or use the props I wanted. Didn't tell me my clothes were bunched up and my necklace was on backwards. I asked about the black and white pics with just the ribbon blue she said she would, and never did. Only let us choose a few pics when I thought we were paying for a disk. Watermarked ALL of them >=( Took forever to upload them (we asked BEFORE how long it would take Bc we were using these pics as our announcement) she didn't even "touch them up" like I requested. I wanted outside pics and she kept putting it off until our session was up, and then there was no time. I was so upset! I NEVER do nice things and pay a lot of money for stuff. I thought out first pregnancy was something I wanted to remember. But honestly, a tripod is a better photographer than she was and it doesn't cost f'ing 500! My lesson has been learned.
She's completely amazing...BB just sucks..this particular idea was mine from pineterest ???? I love it. I have a wrap around canvas that's going on a wall when our downstairs is finished. One of the other photos from the same session is also used in most of the promotional material for MommyCon!

I paid $30 for my maternity photos. We got 50 pictures, with rights, and they're stunning. The photographer was very known in SC but just moved to MD and needed to build her clientele here before she could charge what she normally would. I now have that price locked in for life. ? pricey doesn't always mean good quality
My first photographed birth she said she took 1200 photos total ????? (in just over 4 hours) we got 350ish from that birth total at the end
BB greatly lessens the quality if your posting from a photos folder.
$750 for both mks? That's a good deal! I paid 1000 for just my birth photos...but I also got like 350 of them.
I do photography and I learned there is a difference with a print release and a copyright release. I offer a print release for significantly cheaper (in which they can have copies made in any size and I even let them use it on social media but they aren't allowed to edit or alter the images in any way and I still own all rights to the image) vs. A copyright which signs away my rights to the photo.... I offer a copyright release but for much more. :)

So at work we have a drink thief. Any time we put a drink in the fridge it disappears. I swear I know who it is. So far he's taken drinks from everyone that works in the office, we even put a sign to not take anything you didn't pay for and wrote our names on the drinks. The person I think is taking them works out of the office so we never get to see who is drinking them.

What's your baby's name? How did you find it and what does it mean?
Let's share our #babynames ideas and inspirations. Post your baby's name on the main feed with a photo! It can be a bump or baby pic! Please add the hashtag #babynames so we can read them all 👶🏻
Can't wait to see them all ❤️
Share with your mom friends so they can join mom.life and post their #babynames 👶
