@beccaaalynnn11 yeah I did a lot of my own research when we were planning our first. There are so many things that they don't tell you about. Like salicylic acid is actually dangerous during prrgnancy. How to strap the baby in the right way...etc. There are many moms out there that get pregnant but don't bother looking into anything, they just do the bare minimum

- Doesn’t the box come with instructions ? I do agree with @vvrobinson, education is key. They sort of just send you home with a baby and you’re expected to know everything on your own. #readbooks

@shayybear, if only they had them near me! i had to have my WIC office install mine bc the fire dept had no clue. and then the WIC lady couldn't get the latches on.. a youtube unboxing of my car seat was the most helpful 😣 i don't even want to look at the car seat when i took a picture of him in it leaving. 😕

@lynleesmom115 ew that's repulsive. I hate people that don't bother trying to be good parents. There's women that would KILL to have a baby and DO EVERYTHING the RIGHT way. And then there are puppy mill bitches that pop out babies and don't give a fuck

@vvrobinson, YES!!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 I agree, they should definitely thoroughly inform before anyone is able to leave the hospital with a newborn. I will ALWAYS inform, no matter what kind of reaction I may get. If people get salty or snappy, they obviously NEED help when it comes to things of this nature. It is terrifying how many don’t know, and even more terrifying that there are so many parents that just simply don’t care. I live in Oklahoma, and in my little town, you’ll see moms driving around with newborns in their laps & toddlers standing in the backseat. I don’t understand it at all, but it’s like the “norm” here and it’s almost like there is no talking sense into these people. It’s so scary.

@lynleesmom115 @klazaro that would be incredible if part of the discharge video at the hospital they went over PROPER carseat install (both for older vehicles and the newer ones) and PROPER strapping of the baby. They have this oldschool video that explains common sense shit that nobody cares about. I honestly had no idea that the clip made a difference but it does and having more information on it would be really useful to all moms and DADS as well. My husband had no idea, I had to teach him about the placement. It sucks when you're trying to help a mom out on this app and they get salty instead of taking in the help. There's no shame in learning something new to keep your baby SAFE and ALIVE

Maybe do what they do in order go get free carseats. You have to take a carseat course.

I'd like to say that yes it's wrong but also that it isn't discussed ENOUGH by important people in the mom-to-be's life...such as the ob and pediatrician. Its vital information that, I have to admit, I wasnt aware of until I had my baby already and she was a few weeks old. Youd think it common sense about the specific placement of the straps but not everyone knows. Good thing its spread around a lot on this app, helping moms that don't know out
