jw ,when is it ok for a baby to sleep for longer periods? im a ftm and want to know when it will be ok to let her sleep longer . i know now she's too young btw
@mommytonayeliz 😓 i wish everyone would agree on one thing...the office i take her to have several pediatricians so each time i take my kids they see a different pediatrician unless you request a specific one...and i had some said not to wake the baby up after gaining her birth weight and the last one we saw said not to let her go more than 3 hours. Its soo hard deciding what to do 😖
@julybaby2016 i usually let her go 2 or 3 hours during the day and 3 to 4 at night . thats what the pediatrician told me i could do !
@mommytonayeliz and how often are you feeding her? My baby girl was born a day after yours and was 7lbs 8 oz...shes now 9lbs 2oz...i have been waking her up every 3 hours to feed her including at night because her pediatrician said not to let her go 4 hours even after she gained back her birth weight in 3 days but everyone else told me not to wake a sleeping baby after gaining back her birth weight...so im also wondering if i should stop waking her up and let her wake up on her own😐 im breastfeeding too
@mommytonayeliz, I would definitely keep waking her to eat at 4 hours if she’s still is not 6 pounds. Newborns can also get dehydrated easily.
@simplyshantell okay yeah i mean i am not bothered by waking up at all it was just a curiosity honestly
@mommytonayeliz Definitely every 4 hours then and never past 5 at max. 6 weeks will be here in no time.. it flies by, trust me!
@simplyshantell1 yeah thats what her pediatrixian said .not more than 4 hrs she was so little at birth and still is nit even 6 lbs yet
@mommytonayeliz the general rule is and has always been to let them go up to 4 hours, never go more than 5 hours without feeding until 6 weeks old, and that's due to sugar levels. Anything past 5 hours can be dangerous at under 6 weeks old because if the sugar levels drop baby will not wake herself up beyond that point and they are too little to tolerate that if it happens.. so every 4 hours is the general rule until then. Everyone will say something different though. That's just what the board of pediatricians CDC reccomends. It's up to you whether to let her sleep or not once shes above her birth weight but she is still so little I wouldn't let her go past a certain point just yet not to risk it.
@n_favors alot of people tell me that but if i let her she will sleep all night
@mommytonayeliz no I don't. He's 2 months, has been sleep all night since 2 weeks. If he is hungry he will let me know. There's no need for me to wake him
I never woke either of my boys up. My oldest (almost 2) still wakes up to get in bed with me. My youngst 2 months, sleeps all night and has since he was 2 weeks old
U don't have to wake her she'll let u no when she's hungry
@messybunmom yup thats what i do ,shes on a routine tho so she basically cries only when its time to eat . 0
The only time I’ll wake a newborn up is when I need to feed to help gain their birth weight back up. Or the typical diaper changes lol. Other than that I let them sleep.
Don’t know how much longer I should swaddle when I put mia to sleep...
What are those sleeping bags called and are they any good? 😁😁
How old was your babies when they start sleeping longer at night?
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
Should I let my x know when labor starts
Ok I'm 15 And Pregnant And I Don't Know What To Do. I'm Just A Freshman In High School.
