Does anyone know if this is a weed or if it's actually something I want in my garden?

Not sure, leave it and find out. My SO said it looks like a plant.

I'm pretty sure its a plant. Hydrangeas maybe. If it is you probably will not get flowers for the first year or two I'm guessing. Looks like a young plant. But it looks like the leaves on our hydrangeas

@ladyfreyja, @0711_sandra, there's a hydrangea by the garage, I think! At least, from what I just Googled, it looks like a dead one...the fun of buying a house in the winter: spring comes and you're completely lost on what plants you have, haha. Thanks!

Wild violet. Invasive and unnecessary- you can pull it.

I pulled so much out of my gardens and it still keeps coming back and spreading

@laniejay, that makes it easy. Everything in that strip of garden is now going except the roses and strawberries!
