idk if yall talked about this yet but did yall see that some school made the news because i guess some kid tried out for the cheerleading squad and didnt make it and so the parent complained and now everybody that tries out makes it. Smh i spent hours learning a dance routine in high school to make the cheerleading team now they just giving spots away😭😭😂😂😂😂that aint right
I don’t agree, but think there could be a compromise. I think the cheer team should be hard to get into- you are trusting others to literally hold you up- they better be quality! However, I think there could also be a cheer club that anyone can join, maybe led by one of the complaining parent volunteers or someone else they can get, where they don’t compete or perform at games, but they work out/dance/beginner stunts and tumbling when ready and just support each other in building skills to hopefully make next years cheer team.
... and they wonder why such a large percentage of legal aged adults live with mommy and daddy now. Ridiculous .
This is just irritating to me. My daughter worked hard to make the squad. I don't think these parents know what really goes into being a cheerleader. Long practices, extremely sore muscles, dedication, memorization, not to mention money! Next thing will be that it shouldn't cost so much, and then there goes cheer camps, new uniforms, bows, spirit wear. I'm terrified for our future. The world is going to fall apart because everyone's gonna be lazy and entitled to everything.
@moski, i agree so well spoken, everybodys becoming overly sensitive brats
I would really like to get the input of that parent/child that complained. Did they have a legit reason to complain, such as favoritism towards another student making them score higher?
Regardless, this is where our society is heading. I even see at work with our younger generation. We are so afraid to hurt someone’s feelings we do stuff like this. And ultimately you are punishing those who go the extra mile to perfect their craft and skills. So yeah, inclusivity sounds great but at the price of creating entitled brats.
I'm so sick of all this soft shit!! I was a cheerleader in middle school, I worked hard to be that too!! Everyone is NOT a winner!! When these kids enter the real world, they're gonna be the ones having meltdowns, not being able to do real stuff, because they suck!
My kids earn what they get! Whether it be a phone, money, etc..
We have to work for money, does anyone's boss just give them money when they don't do their jobs?... What kinda shit does this teach, oh you suck but here's your trophy, or you suck welcome to the team😬😬😬😬
What town was this? Are they just trying to be famous? I think it is silly. The real world will hit these children like a ton of bricks😮 thanks to their parents.
🍄🧚🏻♀️🦋⭐️🌈.......🌪🔥💥☄️🚧🌋🏚
Then why have try outs? That's why I like the sports my son plays. Everyone can try out and make a team but it's based on skill level.
It’s hard an fucking expensive. We had to pay out of pocket for all uniforms, camp, camp clothes, pep rally and school decorations. We even paid for our own food before/after games even though they make sure to feed the football players every single week 😬 it’s quite the commitment
Before anyone jumps at me, I don't give a ballsack either way, but the fact that we all agree that cheerleading is incredibly hardcore, you really think everyone who ends up joining will stick it out all the way though? Probably not lol. Those who can't keep up will start abandoning it, anyway.
Omg. Wtf does that teach our kids? If you complain you get what you want. Gtfo
The policy hasn't been enacted yet, so technically a final decision hasn't been made. Also, it wasn't one parent, it was several parents and several students who've been complaining for some time. At one point, the principal threatened to disband the 10 member squad, So that's probably what led to an "all or nothing" decision since I'm sure the parents of the kids on the cheerleading squad complained about disbanding it altogether.
@jellybeans33, cheerleaders dont get the credit they deserve tbh, cheerleading wasnt easy at all, you have to be cut out for it not just cheerleading but any sport takes an specific amount of hard work it shouldnt be a free pass for anyone
i hope they dont do that to every school i really want my daughters to understand how hard work pays off and little stuff like the cheerleading team or any other teaches them stuff like that🤦🏻♀️smh and i thought i was spoiling my baby😂😂
No one needs to earn anything these days. So much for work ethics
