Help please 😦

DD1 is 3 y/o. And has been “potty trained” for the past year. She was doing so good with it. But lately for about the last month to month and a half she’s been having accidents at night. It’s nearly every night. I don’t give her anything to drink close to bed time, I take her to the restroom before bed, she used to wake up asking to go to the restroom but now she doesn’t. What can I do? Family is advising my SO that maybe it’s time to scold and make her see it’s wrong, but I feel like it would just push her to do it more out of fear.

I agree it sounds like she is regressing. Spooklyn has good advise. I wouldn’t punish her for something that’s normal, just reinforce good behavior, put some pull ups on her and bring her when you go too.

I would put a pull up on her at night tbh. They do say it takes longer to be fully trained at night.

@girlygirl1988, @spookylyn,

Is it possible to be because of the new baby coming? We started talking to her about when the baby will come and she is starting to act like a baby asking for a bottle when she’s never had one, wanting to be swaddled and peeing in the bed. I just didn’t think she’d do it as often

My son went through this phase after he was potty trained. He was wetting the bed every single night, then all he sudden it stopped and he hasn’t done it again. To me it’s normal

@leowifey, I’ve thought about this too. Like I wake up to go pee I have woken her up to go with me. Sometimes she’ll go other times she’ll just say she doesn’t need to and goes back to bed. But the times I’ve done it she doesn’t wet the bed.

Do you think the fact a new baby is coming is causing her to have accidents maybe for attention ?

would it help to set an alarm midway through the night so she wakes up to go potty?

@letty1311, I thought that would work and motivate her but wasn’t too sure. I’m going to give it a try.

@kittywearingmama, yeah she was doing good. Waking up probably 2 times a night to pee and she’d go back to bed. It’s just lately. I don’t want to scold her because I feel like it would just make it worst but then I’m not sure if giving her diapers would be good either

This happened to my son. Even during the day he would have accident's because he didn't want to stop playing/stop watching the movie he was watching. So we had to go back to using a potty chart with cool stickers to get him excited about using the potty again. It worked for us.

Please don’t scold her for having accidents. Was she doing ok before this past month with night time training? Could something have happened that’s making her regress? Sometimes night time training takes longer as it’s not so much about knowing when to go but a hormone that your body produces that helps you hold it/wakes you up to go.

How do you discipline an 11 month old? Shes been so bad lately and if you tell her no she doesn't listen.

1
ambermarieeee I'm not saying discipline as in hitting cause I would NEVER hit my kids. I was abused
a.mama22 It’s best not to use the word “no” for a child that age unless they’re in danger.

I can't take it anymore! Haley (yes my 1mth old and no I wasn't able to go through this "joy" of nursing my older daughter, Molly) has been screaming non stop for 6hrs! All she wants to do is eat and I can't have her attached to me all day, everyday! She has wanted to eat every hr on the hr for the past 3hrs! I put her in her room so I don't scream at her but I just can't take it!

lillyb Good job giving ur self a break we all need them. See if maybe she will nurse
delete____ I have to commend you for stepping away, momma!! Everyone reacts to a child screaming differently and
imisssleep123456789 Ugh I remember those days. With both kids I decided to always top them off with formula.

mommys who co-sleep

Did you tell lo doctor you were co-sleeping? What is the response im going to get from her dr this month? She is almost 6 months and weve been co-sleeping since 4 months. She starts the night out in bed until she wakes up to eat, and then she comes into my bed.

babybump_user I never got asked but past experiences with my own kids I will not be co sleeping
babybump_user There are safe ways to co sleep. Idc wat my Dr says. We like to snuggle lol
babybump_user I lie and say he sleeps in his cot to avoid lectures.
