Anyone on here tried the keto diet? I have friends who have but idk anything about it and have been thinking of trying something to help promote a healthier lifestyle. Looking to learn about it and some recipes for it, if you give recipes or food ideas, I must be able to get everything at Walmart if at all possible

@stormyy14 I was told that you shouldn't be doing the keto while pregnant or breastfeeding

@stormyy14 Exactly what I thought but my doctor told me that I shouldn't be on any diet when I was breastfeeding. Even though I am almost double the weight of what they say I should be. But my daughter hasnt breast feed for like a year now so I figure since I'm not breastfeeding or pregnant then I'm going to work on myself.

I’m stuck on the keto diet during pregnancy thanks to GD. Suggested by my Dr and nutritionist so obviously can’t be that bad. But Not fun when your forced! Lol but it is definitely a strong diet for bodybuilding. Look up female body builders. It’s amazing to see how they age as well. Ernestina the bodybuilders story is sooo cool. You should definitely look up oldest body builders, it will turn you into a believer haha. Just when you get the opportunity to eat carbs make sure they are healthy choices like fruits, corn, and potatoes not processed crap. I think that probably makes all the difference.

@1xmom, there is one thing I’ve learned about Drs watching my husband go through med school. Never take nutritional advice from them lol. They are not trained on it in the least!! They know the body well but my husband, in law who is a nutritionist and I have all witnessed terrible advice given from Drs In regards to diet. Nutrition is a science in itself that is constantly changing. There is a lot of bad advice out there and there is a lot of biased (not supported by science) claims out there. Just be careful to make sure you are getting your nutrients that are required. For example If you’re not eating potatoes and that’s your main source of Iodine right now, find another source to get that. Those are the true building blocks. Now proteins are definitely more important fuel for your body than carbs so you get a lot more health risks when people get the vegetarian diet going on.
