Madi is taking ounce after ounce I literally can not keep up. I want to give her rice cereal to keep her full😑
My pediatrician suggested we start watered down rice cereal. My son is 4 months 15.78 lbs almost 16 lbs. But to start with a little at night. And by spoon not by bottle. Now just to find the right brand. Oh boy right ?
@r0driguez lol i don't think people are really bashing but informing her that it's not a good idea.
😂😂😂 BAHAHAHA I’m sorry but all these comments boyyyyy i give my son lollipops, meat, everything y’all gonna bash on me too? Every parent is different y’all can have your opinion but leave it at that dont try to start something you keep doing you mama
@jtaylorg, I didnt explain it like she did . It’s not just licking of the lips . She showed it to me but that’s the best way I can describe it lol
@mims, I mean a nutritionist that’s been in the business for over 40 years told me this , soo I mean . Everyone parents their own way , if my son is doing that , and I think he can be or is ready for the cereal that’s what I do . Idk why moms on this site just attack other moms for commenting when moms say things and give advice ? Definitely wish I had the B.B app I used to use .
@jtaylorg, oh. I remember my oldest went through that. And I bumped it up to 4.5/5 ounces and it helped. Hopefully the growth spurt is over soon.
@damn.it.red, about 3.5-4oz. She normally will take like 19-20 oz a day. But the past 3 days she’s been taking like 30 lol
@jtaylorg, at a normal feeding when she’s not doing this how much are you feeding her?
@damn.it.red, I have been😫 She wants an ounce every 15 mins
Maybe try giving her an extra ounce when you feed her.
@leroydoom, I totally will hold off. In fact she has her 4 month appointment on the 16th and I wouldn’t do anything without asking her doctor. That’s why i don’t understand all these comments. I didn’t say I was going to do this. I said I wanted to. simply cuz she’s wanting a bottle every 5 minutes and it’s frustrating. Thank you for the advice!
Hang in there! My son did the same thing at 3 months and I remember how hungry he looked all the time for a week. In our case it was just a growth spurt. We had the ok from our doctor to start cereal at 4 months. Maybe check with your doctor before starting. Ours suggested we start this early because our little man gave all the signs he was ready and formula wasn’t enough for him (I sadly couldn’t breastfeed 😔). We started other solids at 6 months and everything went great. He’s a great little eater and loves to try new things. Ask your doctor, sometimes we need to go against what science says. Goo luck!
@jtaylorg Tend to agree with the other lady commenters, really does sound like a growth spurt. I knew a lady who started supplementing rice cereal at the same age for the same reason for her grandson even tho the mom didn't really want to. It really didn't seem to help and they were quickly over feeding him without meaning to. (Grandma watched him thru the day for free while mom worked) He was like in the 40 percentile for height and 90 percentile for weight. It was crazy. He didn't crawl until almost a year old because he was so heavy.
If I was in your position (just my opinion, you can just ignore me if you want lol) I'd hold off another month to see if this is truly a growth spurt.
@briannalynn547, there is a reason they don't give it until 6 months. Just because a baby moves its tongue doesn't mean it's stomach can handle what you are putting into it.
@briannalynn547, that’s so weird. my daughter has been doing that with her tongue licking her lips for the past couple of weeks but I would never associate it with that
My son is going through it right now he typically does it 1-2 times a month every time he has gone through some kind of growth spurt .. it’s frustrating but you will have relief soon
I was just at wic today , and she said that they don’t provide it til 6 months but you know your baby. She said if your baby is licking his/her lips a lot and like sticking their tongue in and out then their ready for baby food and cereal . But don’t just give it to baby because their hungry. My sons doing this rn as well and she told me he’s going through a growth spurt and it’s super normal and to just keep up with it .
I just don’t get the random rudeness lol what did I do or say to deserve that?
Babies go through spurts and cluster feeds naturally and will always eat more during those times. Feeding her rice cereal early won’t help that since it’s a growth spurt. There is some concern with feeding babies too early because it is thought to be a factor in open gut. I’d research open gut and cluster feeds and their schedules so you have a good idea of when to expect the clusters. Sometimes it feels like all we do is feed a baby when they are going through that, but it will pass.
Rice cereal isn't recommended until 6m even then it has no nutritional properties. Your baby could be hitting a growth spirt or just cluster feeding. It's normal. If you do recent research on studies nothing but breastmilk or formula should be given under 6 months
Yeah what @awesome1377, said is correct about rice cereal that’s why I also gave my daughter oatmeal
Bad idea. Rice cereal has no nutitiuonal value to it plus babies don't need anything until 6 months.
Sorry. You’re right. You obviously came on here to vent.
Hailie stfu.
@jtaylorg, In these days we have more knowledge of what's good and bad, right and wrong for the health and safety of our children and even for us adults. For instance, they used to put car seats (poorly made ones at that) in the front seats of cars but we know better now to not do that.
Rice cereal really has zero nutritional benefits. Babies only need fed exclusively breastmilk or formula until after 6 months of age. Whe fed my dd infant oatmeal after 6 months instead of rice cereal.
@glencoco, ok but why are you being rude? lol so randomly rude
@jtaylorg, a week or so usually. Sometimes a little longer sometimes not as long . Rice cereal isn’t really recommended until 6 months like others said. They had me use it at 4 with my daughter because her reflux was so bad and nothing helped. But that was also almost 6 years ago I’ve noticed many changes since then
@glencoco, was that sarcastic? obviously I was told this info by my parents.
@parismommmy, @joffree., every baby is different. I had rice cereal at 3 months because i was too hungry
Babies should only receive breast milk or formula until at least 6 months.
Ask the doctor about it. They may not approve until 4 months but bringing it up couldn’t hurt. My son does the same thing right now he is about to be 3 months .. but whenever he does this he is usually hitting a growth spurt

Should I keep her for Emry you guys???

I feed Paola about 3 bottles of formula a day, a couple spoonfuls of Gerber for breakfast/dinner and every once in a while 2 ounces of apple juice. Every time I give her formula I burp her and it never fails she ALWAYS throws up. Every bottle of formula is 6 ounces and she's 6 months. Am I giving her too much?? And thats why he keeps throwing up??
Can I give 4 month old baby 2 ounces juice???

Baby Adalynn I had her all natural on April 7 weighing 6pounds 9 ounces
Anyone keeping up w this case of the ohio cheerleader buried her dead baby in her yard?
Babies should only receive breast milk or formula until at least 6 months.
