Hi ladies. Need some help from breastfeeding mommies. Do you wake up your newborn to feed every certain hours or do you let them wake up on their own??
@kellynicole if i let my newborn wake up by herself she goes 4 hours....but im waking her up every 3 hours and its a struggle to keep her awake to eat...it takes me 1 hour and 15 minutes total to get her to stay awake to eat from both sides 15 min each. So im wondering if i wake her up to eat every 3 hours during the day, its ok to let her sleep until she wakes up during the night?
@kellynicole did he went more than 3 hours between feedings?
If they’re sleeping through the night I wouldn’t bother they’re sleeping routine you kind of want to keep it.. if you pump in the middle the night to help your milk will continue that should be more than enough. I was told not to wake up a sleeping baby it’s bad for their sleeping patterns. They will wake up if they are hungry. Usually after a couple months they start feeling full from their meals throughout the day.
@julybaby2016. What I always did, was I pumped every 3 or 4 hours and if he is still sleeping, I would put the milk in the refrigerator until he wakes up. My Son can sleep for 4 to 6 hours straight now. I just pump every 3 to 4 hours and wait until he is up and ready to eat! :D. ♡.
I ended up having to wake her in the beginning bc she lost so much weight and didnt wake enough that it was an endless cycle of shes so tired because shes so small and hungry so she wont wake up to eat. Now she wakes on her own for the most part
@zackemilymcguire So waiting for your son to wake up, does he goes 4 hours on some feedings? It doesnt cause your milk supply to be low to let them wake up on their own?
Its just so confusing how some lactation consultant says to wake them every 2-3 hours and others say to let them wake up on their own but dont go longer than 4 hours....
I always wait until My Son wakes up. Never wake a sleeping baby! ♡♡.
Unless your dr is concerned about weight gain you don’t need to wake them. They’re awesome at knowing when they need food
I let him wake me, i didn’t believe in waking a sleeping baby
You should wake your newborn if she does not wake up by herself every 2-3 ours. 3 ours is almost too long. After the first weeks it's just on demand feeding. That's what my hospital told me.
How early Do you guys wake up ?
Do you mamas wake your baby up to feed them or let them wake up when they're hungry?
How much do you feed your baby when they wake up at night?
How many times do you mommies wake up in the middle of the night and breastfeed?
What would you do with $25,000
If you received an extra $25,000. What would you do with it? ?
@julybaby2016, i would let her sleep as long as there’s no concerns for weight
