So idk if this is just a picky eating phase for Celie but everything I try to feed her she pushes it away..what are some foods or ways to get her to eat? She is sometimes fine with what I eat and sometimes she's not. I have talked to wic about it and they didn't really say anything and I talked to her doctor about it yesterday and she told me she's just in a "picky" stage but this has been going on for a while now.
Some days atlas will gobble down anything i put in front of his face and other days he’ll spit everything out. They’re pallets are always changing though so what they don’t like today they may love next week after continuously trying and thinking of better mixes and blends to come up with. Atlas hates carrots but when I combine them with fruits he gobbles them down now and I slowly take out the fruit part and after a week or two he’s eating plain carrots so just stay creative and enthusiastic about meal time and what’s on the plate before them and know if you’re eating it they most likely will too so lead by example
@noahs.mommy yea my son has his days where nothing I make is good enough . I just follow his lead sometimes he ends up eating pb&j , noodles or juice ♀🤷🏾😂
Tonight he actually enjoyed dinner which was a surprise .
@breederofboyz, he’s still super picky though but some days he just has a melt down and doesn’t eat at all and that one day was just a disaster I must have had 3 different bowls of different food made for him
@breederofboyz, yeah Noah will teeth before he cuts any teeth like he has the symptoms like drooling and chewing and stuff but then stop all that and later the teeth cut through it’s SO weird. I didn’t even think that it might have been that 🤦🏼♀️
@noahs.mommy same here I thought something was wrong because he wouldn't even eat things I KNEW he likes . That's when I realized his molars were coming in , and he was refusing to eat because it hurt. So he barely ate anything for like a week and drank all the time . He's currently on his last set of molars and has started refusing certain foods again but I know it will pass .
@breederofboyz, I was SO frustrated with his eating that I broke down crying twice because he refused to eat and we were both crying so now if he doesn’t want to eat I let it go give him a nice full warm bottle and try again later. Now I know for the most part to stick with what I know he likes and not to change it up too much or he will end up not eating 🤷🏼♀️
@celiesmommy01, Noah’s getting his molars now and he’s almost 16 months. He started teething at 3 months but didn’t cut teeth until 7 months.
My son started growing his around 13m its different for every one but you can check and see if you feel anything
Noah did and does this. He’s been like this since before he was 1 and he he has a weight problem because of it. Lost weight and didn’t gain all of it back within 2 months from losing it. I tried different things if he liked it I stuck with it.
He likes Lima beans
Smoothies
Bananas but I can’t chop them up I have to keep it in the peel and feed him
Strawberries with sugar
Refried beans with a bit of sour cream
Rice
Potatoes
Eggs
Pbj
Puffs are a favorite snack
We’re working on the cheese thing cause he’s hated cheese for a while and he’s liking it again
Apple sauce( the packets are his favorite easily self feeds)
Broccoli
Chicken
Noodles
He HATED eggs and cheese for so long now he likes eggs and we’re working on cheese. You just have to come up with different concoctions I make him smoothies because he won’t eat fruit all the time and I’ll sneak in some blueberries and spinach. I’ll make him quesadillas instead of grilled cheese cause he prefers that. Pbj is an every day thing because I know he will eat it. When in doubt make the food you KNOW she will eat without a doubt. I can’t go wrong with noodles for Noah if he won’t eat what I originally gave him.
Yes, encourage and praise a lot, don't make a big deal if she won't eat something you fix her, she's still so young and trying out new tastes and textures. Just try to be patient with her.
My son has been picky since he was about the same age, I worried that he would be under weight but he's grown steadily (he's been on the small side since birth) and I now have him on multi vitamin and fiber gummies, since he's older now, I encourage him to take one bite of unfamiliar food and if he doesn't like it (I know the difference between his "this is gross" face and his "I'm going to pretend I don't like this" face lol) he doesn't have to eat it.
I'll give him an option before bed like a banana and a granola bar so he has something in his stomach, some parents do peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.
Just keep trying things different ways. For example if its eggs try it fried, scrambled, boiled etc. They sometimes have texture issues. Teething definitely makes them picky. Just keep offering!
I found out she loves cheese crisps:)
