*Question / help*

Does anyone have experience with a 5 week old that has random crying bouts? My little one is generally pretty content, but will randomly cry and seem really miserable at times. Nothing seems to helps, and then she just cries herself to sleep. It happens at least once a day, sometimes more. Not sure if she is kind of colicky or maybe struggling with silent reflux...? I hate seeing her so upset 😣

@bj1605, Yes. Her ped told me it didn’t warrant bringing her in to be seen right away 😒

@itstessa, that’s how my baby started her reflux. No real pattern and not too often but she would randomly start crying and nothing we did calmed her down. Then it got bad and she stopped gaining weight and it ended up being a bad case of reflux. I hope it’s just colic for your little one and that it goes away. It’s not easy to hear them crying when nothing you do helps them. I hope it gets better. Is she breast or bottle fed?

@tiredmama0917, oh my goodness I’m so sorry to hear that ☹️ I hope she is doing better! I hope it is too - it is heartbreaking when your child is hurting / upset and there’s nothing you can do to remedy that. Have you tried any probiotics...? I’m wondering if I should get some for her since her ped won’t see her just yet 🙄

@itstessa, it’s okay. I am just glad that we brought her to the doctor for it. She was actually put on medication for it around 2 months old. She is a totally different baby on it, she’s so happy and rarely cries anymore it’s amazing. It absolutely is heartbreaking to not be able to help your little one. Why won’t her pediatrician see her? I was actually going to buy some but haven’t tried any yet. It’s hard to find anything that you can give a baby that’s safe for her age.

@tiredmama0917, Aw that must be such a relief that she’s doing better! My little ones ped doesn’t have any openings until the end of the month, and didn’t seem concerned when I told her about all of my daughter’s symptoms. Which I think is ridiculous and I’m trying to get in with a different doc ASAP. I agree - it is hard to find stuff that’s safe for babies under 1 year old. I’m going to give Mommy’s Bliss probiotics a try - hopefully that helps

@itstessa, yeah that’s absolutely ridiculous. I would call and tell them you don’t care what doctor you see because your daughter needs to see someone. Sounds like she doesn’t have a very good pediatrician right now. Yeah, I know gerber has a probiotic but it’s $30 a bottle which is crazy. Hopefully the mommy’s bliss will work well for her.

@tiredmama0917, yeah I took her to urgent care the other day and got her into a different pediatrician this week. They told me to try the probiotics to see if that will help, and said she’s probably colicky. I’m hoping that’s all it is.... 🙈

@itstessa, good I’m glad you were able to get in somewhere. I hope it’s just colic and that it will go away soon!

is it wrong to be frustrated that my daughter acts like she can't do certain things with out my help. she plays dumb a lot and I wish I could be like no girl show what you know. she acts like she can't trace or match shapes so shes ask for "mommy finger" to help her so I barely hold her hand and she magically can do it but if I dont hold her hand she just scribbles and acts like she doesnt know the pic is how she traces when I'm "helping her" otherwise it'll just be scribbles all over the page
