Soo my doctor told me about a test that's most likely going to be done about getting fluids drawn from the baby's sack.. And idk how I feel about it , I don't want no needle near my baby or puncturing the sack 😣 my mom , older sister and older cousin said not to do it. All my blood work is fine I have no problems , so family told me its not needed n to tell the doctor NO
You can tell them no! Its optional if you dont want it done just say no.
If it's not medically necessary them there's no need for it. They can check through regular blood work to see if baby has down syndrome or any other health issues. I think they are talking about the amnio and that's usually only done if your blood work came back negative. I read through the comments and so far it don't seem like anyhting is wrong with baby....mahbe speak to the Dr again or find a different dr.
Do not let anyone do anything until you are 100% clear on what is going on. Honestly, just because they are doctors does not make them God. Make them repeat themselves ten times until you understand what is going on.
Then make an informed decision.
I wouldn't do it there are less evasive test they do to see. If those can't back fine no need for it. If it didn't come back and your baby might have issues or down syndrome I'd just take the chance and not do it. I don't like the risks with that test
@candalynbolden I have an appointment this Thursday I will be sure to ask n see
Gain clarity on the situation first then try to get a second and third PROFESSIONAL opinion ... I’m sorry I’m having a home birth my trust issues with medical teams run deep.
It was a first appointment when she brought it up, she didn't even know much about me yet, no blood test were done yet it was my first time to even meet her as my doctor so idk @adazeneigrace
and if your not comfortable with it now ask them if they can put it off til your comfortable or until he/ she starts showing signs of the test needing to be done . the main concern is your comfortablitiy and the baby’s health
@adazeneigrace I don't think I will go through with it cause if everything is fine and the baby is normal , I shouldn't be concerned . its a test supposedly to see if the baby will have and disabilities or health issues once its born.
@calzaste96 i would ask her again to why it's needed and make your decision from there. I get that. It was weird watching the needle go in on the ultrasound.
Good luck!
but you also got to remember if the docter is recommending it then you should hear her out cause also not doing this could cause future problems and health risks and nobody wants that 💕
well if you didn’t fully understand the information i think you should talk to her , tell your worries fears and concerns and after that if what she is saying is still making you feel uncomfortable then don’t do it
I don't feel comfortable with the fact of a needle being so close to the baby , and with how active my baby is I just scared for something to go wrong . she explained all this to me on our first time meeting , my first check up , before I was going to a church funded place for ultrasounds. But she threw so much information at me at once I didnt know what to do with all of it 😣... I'm new to all of this and as of now from all the test and recent ultrasounds, me n the baby are completely normal and healthy ..@halifax6 @adazeneigrace
i think if the docter recommends it then you should hear him out on why he wants to do the test , but then again if your not completely comfortable with the rest being done you should share with your docter your fear and concern
Is it an amniocentesis? Typically they don't do that unless something has indicated they need to. If your Dr didn't specifically say why you needed it, I would ask for clarification to why it's being asked of you. And then if you're still uncomfortable say no.
On another note, my friend's Dr told her she needed one, and she ended up doing it (it was a while ago, and I really can't remember the reason why it was needed, she was high risk though) and it went just fine. :]
I don't blame you for not wanting it.
No doubt the doc will make you feel crappy for not getting the test done.
