I know newborns are sleepy a lot and my baby is only 3 days old but I have a hard time keeping her awake for longer than 5 minutes on each boob. She latches and she drinks but she passes out so quick then doesn't want to wake back up. So I'm having a hard time with her weight and everything. It's stressful.
Congratulations on your new born woman! First time breastfeeding is one of the most stressful and beneficial things to do but if it's provided make sure you go to the breastfeeding consultant. Also know that these things take time. You can do it!
I strip her down every time just to have the skin to skin. She's almost always naked because yes clothes make her even more comfortable. But I'm gonna stick with it and feed her on demand and do everything I can. I won't give up
@alyssa5792 I've tried switching boobs, lifting her and talking to her, nudging her body and face with my fingers, tickling her spine, cold water on the bottom of her feet. She whines and goes back to sleep or just wiggles and goes back to sleep. Milk as in the yellow stuff? Like stuff squirts out of my nipple especially when I pump and it's white yellow and when I squeeze my nipples I can get good droplets of milk at the time to help her latch on. She just goes to sleep quick. Doctors say she will lose weight the first week but after 2 weeks she needs to be back at 8 pounds. I'm trying not to freak out and be patient and calm and pump and keep good skin to skin. I skin to skin every time I feed her.
