try not to show that you kmow he doesn't feel good. emotionally, he'll pick up on that & his head will probably tell him it's worse than his body thinks. does that make sense? (state of mind type of thing.) he'll be okay. there's really nothing you can do, but have him ride it out. keep him as busy as you can. do things you normally do. don't treat him like he's sick. treat him like he's healthy so he'll most likely get back to normal faster. I know what I'm saying probably doesn't make sense, but I can only give you advice based off my kids experience...
@chaaaachix, he does sleep with me in the same room. We live with my mom for now. So we all sleep in the same room. I’ve been trying everything. I’ve even cried with him because I feel so bad.
@kambam, I’ve been doing everything I can think of and read. Poor little guy just doesn’t feel good
let him sleep with you. kids do better when their sick by being close to you. you could try helping him sweat it out. if that doesn't sound so mean. if everything don't bring it down, try a warm bath. maybe his body will react to the temp and try to cool off. but fevers are the body's way of fighting off sickness so it's not completely bad. it's worse in young kids. I'm no medical expert or anything. I'm just going off what my kids went through. he'll be miserable for awhile. just show him love until he's ready.
Poor guy. Try cool rags on his feet and wrists. Or behind his neck. You should keep fluid syringes in your first aid so you can easily give him medicine or fluids. Easy to force water that way.
@chaaaachix, I’ve tried everything for him. He’s not eating or drinking. The er did nothing and he’s just miserable
@kambam, he’s got a fever and the floor is cold and feels good. I took him to the er and they did nothing
@_sheriee, his fever hit 103 and the er did nothing
@_sheriee, @coookie, I took him and nothing they just told me to do the Tylenol and Motrin and the bath
sit in a cool bath with him for awhile. give him a cool popsicle if you have any. try small things he normally don't resist eating. water is more important. as long as you can at least get him to drink some, somehow, that's fine. Gatorade/ Powerade will help too. Tylenol and ibuprofen won't help if they don't need it.. give him some time. he'll be okay. don't worry, mamas.
