Soooo I just called my Obgyn to make an appointment for the first time. They told me I can’t go in until February 9th! 😡 I want to go in now to see how far along I really am and to make sure I’m okay! Ughhhh. This is not a good morning for my pregnant ass.

@brooklynnsmama, yeah I’m texting my two best friends. They’ve both had two kids. So I’m asking them also. But ugh! So stressed

Mine isn’t that far out, but mine can’t see my until the 22nd. I called last week to schedule an appointment when I had a positive test. I’m dying to know how many weeks I am because last month I was 10 days late and the month before that barely had a period
Kamryn Vetter·
@newmock, oh wow! That’s crazy. I know I’m probably about 3 weeks cause I found out a day after my missed period

That's what I had to deal with too. Everywhere I called was a 2-3 week wait start taking basic prenatal and drink lots of water eat well and you'll be finr

You could ask them if you can have a blood work order in the mean time to confirm about where your at! It’ll be able to tell you the range. When was the first day of your last period?
Kamryn Vetter·
@cheyenne.frazier, December 8th was my last period.
cheyenne frazier·
@kamrynelizabeth, that was the start date of it?
cheyenne frazier·
@kamrynelizabeth, how long are you leaving cycles usually?

Ohhh ik how u feel 👌 when i called to make my first appt. They said that they do a phone consultation before they actually see you and they couldn't get me in for a phone consultation until like 3 weeks after i called. I ended up getting around it by goin to the ER who told me i had to have an appt in 2 weeks for a follow up. That appt ended up being 2 days after the phone consultation

@kamrynelizabeth, your more than likely in the 5-7 week range based off the start of your last period. That’s how they calculate it. Your baby might measure a little bigger or a little smaller than that but it won’t be far off. My first ultrasound matched exactly what they assumed due to my last period but my 11 week ultrasound baby was measuring a few days bigger

Most drs offices don't schedule appointments right away because most of the time if you just found out you are pregnant and they were to do an ultrasound you wouldn't see anything and they don't want the mothers to freak out. That is what I have been told from my drs office. I completely understand your frustration. See if they can put you on a list where if there any cancelations that they give you a call and have you come in.

Mine was far out also , it doesn’t make sense to go in so early because u will not see anything and their is not much gone done.
But , some pregnancy clinics will do a sonogram for you to confirm your pregnancy and to make sure it is growing in the correct spot

Well I started December 8th. My husband who is in the marines came home December 24th. I’m pretty sure that’s when I conceived. Because I was fertile the first week he was home. I was ovulating December 27. Or I conceived December 27 because I was ovulating. There is no way I could be five weeks pregnant because it hasn’t been a month since he came home.

Most obs won't see you for your first visit until your roughly 8 weeks along calculating it off your last period. They usually do a urine test and sonogram that visit, if they saw you sooner then the sonogram wouldn't be of much worth.
I understand it's frustrating. I wanted to get right in after finding out too so I could find out exactly how far along and have that definite confirmation. But I understand the reasoning behind it now.
