Mommies!! I need Y'alls help! I saw My Counselor the other day and I have a bit of post partum depression. NO! I don't want to hurt myself nor my kids but I am very irritable with My son! He always feels the need to lay all over me when I'm relaxing, when I'm trying to sleep, he refuses to sleep in his own bed! He chomps in my ears which I couldn't take this morning so I put him in his bed and he threw his snack at me! It just seems when he's not getting his way he hits me, throws things at me! He's barely 3..is this just a phase with having a son!?

I think so. I also have a 3 yo boy and gong through something similar. He states in his own bed but he hits, screams, tells me no, throws things. It's hard especially when you just want to sit down for a couple minutes. If it helps, my advice is to stay consistent with the way you discipline, try giving him choices (do you want to wear the blue shirt or the red one?), and when he is being good, praise and show affection. Idk if this helps but maybe ask your other 2 kids to take him outside to play so you can just take a small break. I'm not sure if I helped or not, but I hope I did.

Do you spank him? 3 is definitely not too young for a good old fashioned whoopin! My 1 year old knows better than to hit anyone or throw her toys. She's been getting popped since she was 9 months old. I have PPD also and it does get overwhelming. But.. He should know better than to behave in that way.

@prettynpinkk2617 my son does that and he's 17 months. I think it's just a stage and being spoiled lol start to put him in a play pen and let him cry for a bit after awhile of getting put in there for misbehaving, like getting into things , you needed a break to do something, or just randomly so he gets used to being in there he should get better with that. My son too Co sleeps with us and I'm trying to crib train him but before I could I needed to let him know his boundaries and know that he doesn't get all this freedom all the time. He's gotten better. We also use the play pen for everything, bad behavior, cooking, random moments, cleaning, needing a break, going to the rest room and they run out, just little things or if you don't have that use the crib. It gets harder before easier but let him sit there for like 5 minutes and raise it each time. They catch on quick.

@prettynpinkk2617 I also smack hands and spank (a tap) . These are the ages for punishments. If you don't believe in spankings or smacking hands then use the play pen and stay with it. Trust me they will cry load as ever but ignore them and keep doing what you're doing eventually they will stop and just play. For example
My son likes getting into movies, so we smack his hands tell him NO and if he goes back which he does we put him in the playpen for 5 minutes then we let him out if he does it again he goes back in for another 5 minutes and if he keeps doing it I make him stay in there longer. Within a few days he knew that it was no and if he broke it he'd go back . Now he doesn't mess with them. Maybe here and there when I ignore him to cook or something but he goes back to the playpen.

@mississippi.mama Yes Ma'am!! I don't believe in spanking but I had to break that brier because yes he needs a pop on his bottom almost daily! It used to hurt my heart to spank him but since he started hitting me and kicking me in my tummy, yes I spank him, he just tell a me you want spanking, and then hits me then yes girl I wear his butt out because he's not in charge and he definitely needs to learn that he can't walk over his father and I!!

@prettynpinkk2617 if he climbs out of the playpen how does he stay in the crib? Find a way to keep him confined when he's being bad so he knows that's not OK. Teaching it now is better. My step son had NO training at all so when I came into his life at 5 years old he tried to run me but I put my foot down and Holly hell is it hard. He's gotten a lot better but still has his ways and he's 7 now. It's hard.

@kasonsmama he doesn't😫 when he falls asleep I move him to his bed and he wakes up some nights or really early in the morning and jumps in bed with me and lays a over my head. With PPD I'm not as tolerable about it as I normally would be but I'm working on teaching him kindly that he needs to stay in his bed, I even give him his tablet but it doesn't always seem to help! He only listens to his dad but still at times his dad likes him to sleep with us so I don't know how to break that cycle lol

@prettynpinkk2617 he's definitely trying to run the show . I think at that age they know they can get out of things so to them it's like freedom to get into everything and do what they want. I know that my cousins son is a huge brat lol he does all of this except hitting. I think they will grow out of it. but staying on top of them with back talking and hitting will help him when he gets older. Maybe try asking the older kids if they could teach him manners. Normally bigger siblings put a lot of influence on the littler ones.

@prettynpinkk2617 I'm a firm believer in spankings and decipline. We don't do Time-Out. We do Time-In. That's when the child has to sit in your lap quietly, without fighting you for 10 minutes.

Sounds like my daughter she is two and is super clingy since birth and also since birth has an attitude and when she’s mad she lets the world know. She doesn’t sleep in her bed either but that’s not much of an issue our boys where the same and eventually went to their own beds and room. We give good old whopping booty and that also will straighten them out. For now my daughter is young and learning but soon like her brothers she will see her actions have some very serious consequences.

My son is the same way and will be 3 next month
