Please no judgement. I plan to apply for food stamps/EBT temporarily after my son is born while I'm out of work. Breastfeeding is something that's important to me and of course if it came to it i would find a job sooner rather than later but food stamps is a key part of my financial plan so that I can do what i believe is best for my sonand my right as a woman to breastfeed for at least 10-12 months. But I plan to go back to work at that point no matter what. But I have never done food stamps before so I'm not sure what's needed. I live in Mississippi if that helps. Also my son's father will not be on the birth certificate until there is a legally established custody agreement. But other than the obvious problem of no child support what all paperwork do I need. I know I have to show bills and check stubs. But idk how much
@maxx go apply for WIC now, that way YOU and baby girl can get it until the new baby gets here ! I receive WIC, along with my 1 year old & 4 year old ! This is my son's last month on WIC, he'll be 5 next week!
@maxx if you're breastfeeding, YOU get WIC momma. Since you're providing food for your baby, they're providing it for you. The less you breastfeed, the less WIC you get. Once you switch to partial or no breastfeeding then YOU lose most of the things on your voucher or everything goes towards the baby, ESPECIALLY if you switch to formula! If your dad has income, DON'T include him on your application. Any income will dramatically decrease your food stamps
@krisfreeman the only people in the house other than me is my dad who I was planning to include anyway. But I do also need to get on wic. But I need the food stamps too cause wic is primarily for the kids not adults and we'll I need to eat too! Not to mention living of cheese and cereal isn't quite ideal.
@maxx and once you get WIC, your child is eligible until they're 5 years old !! So endless juice, milk, cereal, eggs, peanut butter, etc !!
You will need proof of residency, identification for yourself & kids (birth certificates, social security cards, license/ID) if up have no income then obviously you don't need proof of income. Try getting a letter from your most recent job stating you no longer work there and when you left. You will automatically get a case worker.. You also do NOT need to list the fathers unless they help you financially !! To get the most benefits, only list you and the two babies... It's not like they do home visits to see who actually lives in the same household as you ! Long as you and those babies are good, nobody else matters. And do WIC also, you'll get so much food while breastfeeding it's insane. Even tuna and salmon 😊😊 good luck ! Oh, if you're NOT working right now I suggest you go apply ASAP and once you have the baby your stamps should automatically increase. The hospital where I live sends in all our newborn paperwork so they can go ahead and increase them & we not have to worry about doing it ourselves once we're released
Try wic I have it and they said if I would have breast feed me and baby would be covered for a year
You need to get a case worker instead of just applying online they can help you more.
@maxx try to apply for wic as well. I'm on foodstamps and wic for my son
You don't have to include your dad when applying for food stamps at all I live with my mom her husband and sister and they weren't needed when I applied
