@mumstasin, legally in California they have to allow you pumping breaks

@eryka616, why not over 30min? I feed my daughter every 2-3 hours but I'm currently only making what she drinks nothing over to store :( I will try. I was told I can't be taking off every 2 hours to pump. I have to use my break times to do that. So it's only twice a day.

Don’t ever pump over 30 minutes but everything else everyone said is good advice. I pumped for 3 months which I know isn’t long but I had enough stored for a month after I stopped I pumped every 2-3 hours for 30 minutes I ended up producing 9 oz per pumping session by month 2. Be sure to continue your routine even after you start working.

Oh got ya. I would buy a silicon pump and use it while nursing. You dont need a huge stash. I can tell you how if you message me

Beer does help, it’s the brewers yeast, but you shouldn’t drink while breastfeeding, luckily you can get the same effect from non-alcoholic beer. Or baking a little brewers yeast into some cookies 😉

@beemommyof3, I want to produce more because I wanna store the rest. I'm leaving to work next month, and I don't have any extra milk stored. I'm only producing now what she drinks every 2-3 hours

@taylorsmommy10817, not long. Like 15min from both. I'll try pumping for longer time.

You dont need more. 3 oz is perfect. 1 to 1.25 ounce per hour if you are pace feeding correctly. Babies have small tummies. A breastfed baby will never need more than 4 to 5 ounces per feed maximum at a year old.

@beemommyof3, today I've been slowing down. But every 2-3 hours. I guess I have to pump every hour to have more supply

Breastfeeding is supplu and demand. The more you demand, the more your body will supply. How often are you pumping now?

@jazzyjazz, @mswedes, @melody_momof5, I'm 6 weeks postpartum and have yet to have a drink, but I have heard of it increasing supply. I'm leaving to work next month, and it'll be nice to have extra supply. I'm pumping because my daughter gets really fussy on the boob, and I'm only pumping 3oz in total from both boobs. Not sure how I can increase before work. She doesn't really like formula.

There's Brewers yeast that helps increase milk supply I've seen it at Walmart ..but when I'd occasionally have a drink I did notice my boobies would fill up real fast ..I know others who did drink a beer a day to increase milk.

A friend of mine does it. I don’t necessarily agree with it. Instead I used to take brewers yeast pills. It’s the yeast in the beer that gets milk going
