At what age did your child get spanked? I ask because when I got home from work hubby told me he spanked our 7 1/2 month daughter for squirming during a diaper change. But she does it to scratch her butt every time we change her. Its nothing new to him. I got mad at hime because she is so young but that's my opinion. I know we should start them young to know what is right from wrong but 7-8 months seems too young....what do you guys think about it?
That's abuse. I would leave his ass honestly. He is not respecting your parenting ways and he's abusing your child. Smh
I would definitely not let him watch her. If he barley has patience changing a diaper imagine when she's crying because she's hungry. Is he gonna spank her. She's a baby not a 15 year old. Babies cry when they need something she can't talk or say hey this is bothering me. All babies squirm they move all the time even without a diaper change.
M@j_erin, google why spanking isn’t affective until a certain age and show him. He can get in trouble for child abuse spanking that young
@j_erin. Yeah i wouldnt stand for that id have a very long talk to him tbh she not old enough for that she doesnt comprehend that its hard to change her while she squirms even with my daughter i play with her while shes squirming during her changess and then say in a calm voice "okay lets put your diaper on now baby" and she listens just fine. That just sounds like he doesnt have the patience to deal with it. And thats not okay.
@j_erin Girl you need to have a long talk with him about this. If hes hitting her over that little stuff, I wonder how he would act if she was doing something more aggravating to him? 😕
@tayler I tried telling him she's too young but he kept saying the same thing
@j_erin Oh hell no girl. I'm sorry to say this but that's straight up abuse. I would be terrified to leave her alone with him after him saying that. Of course all children need to learn to listen to their parents and be respectful but your child is a baby!! She literally doesn't know any better.
@j_erin, like I said. My husband would lose an arm and get a divorce before he hit my child.
@jskidsmom @tayler @taradee17 @melody_momof5 @jacqui2012.jl @damn.it.red @mamiforlife @mommiesgoneabitmad @mari_c @beemommyof3 @pinkblossom99 @skysmommy04 @ashleydunn @vvrobinson @zury88rivas his response was he believes in whooping ass that she needs to understand early. He even said he spanked his son at 4 months. I told him he needed patience and that she is just being mobile and he said he didn't care and that she needs to learn.
Babies are going to squirm during a diaper change and crawl away from you An roll that’s what they do because they wanna play they’re not doing it to be bad that’s just what all babies do
Kids don’t understand the meaning of being spanked before they’re two... my daughters 10months still no spankings
Thats wayyyy too young. I would talk to him about not doing it at this age. If he's easily angered or frustrated then I'd consider someone else to watch her.
Honestly that's too young. They don't know any better. As a parent you have to be consistent as in saying "no" when they are doing something you don't want them to, and they'll eventually get it. But spanking at 7 months is way too young in my opinion. My daughter is a year and still squirms when we change her diaper. It's just what they do, they're babies and he needs to be more patient.
What?? That is crazy. he should not be doing that. I have a 7 and a half month old. That is what the do. They dont know
My 8&9 year olds very rarely get spanked. I be damned if a 7 month old got spanked in my house.
I agree thats too young, my daughter is 20 months and still cant even put her in time out, she doesnt even understand the word "no" yet. They dont understand the concept of consequences at that age.
We don't do spankings at all here. But even if I did I think 7.5 months is too young. You need to talk to your husband because you both need to be on the same page when it comes to discipline
She still pretty young so squirming is what they do there just adventurist they’re starting to become mobile. They just want to move. We do timeouts at our house we realize that spanking really didn’t get our point across. Sometimes a swat on the butt is needed when they’re not listening and danger could be there i.e going too close to the road. It’s what works best for you
If anyone ever hits my child they will lose their arm. Husband included. Spanking is not ok period. Especially on a baby that doesn’t know any better.
I think thats pretty young. Even if she does understand not to squirm i honestly didnt start spanking( i mostly like to do time out because i still think my lo is too young to understand that a lot of her actions have consequences) until she turned 1. I honestly try to tell her no and why a few times before carrying out any punishment so she comprehends why its wrong and next time i have to speak about it she will have to deal with the consequences if that makes any sense
I've only ever spanked my 5 year old maybe twice. We do time out for her and didn't start time outs until 3. It works well for her she is a very well behaved child@
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
Short Luteal Phase?
I've just started temping because I believe that the reason I haven't had a BFP yet, after 20 months, is because I believe I may have a Luteal Phase Defect.

Transgender children
So I just learned that in my kids school district (my kids aren't in school yet my oldest will be starting kindergarten next September) there are twin boys who identify as girls. They are 5 years old. What's your opinions on this matter given they are 5!!! I don't believe that at that age they really understand the whole thing. So the entire school had to take a course on how to handle transgender children. For example they can't say girls go this or boys do that. What are...
Starting TWW. Anyone else?
I had a stillborn daughter at 38 weeks this passed Nov. This is my second month ttc. (Last month we only tried for like two weeks though). My last and only pregnancy, I got pregnant the first month of ttc so I hope it's quick this time again.
That's really sad and scary. 100% abuse.
