I've had 2 and neither was bad at all. If it's scheduled it should go pretty smoothly

I had one. It wasn’t painful to me, I had the spinal instead of being put to sleep. Surgery lasted a hour tops. I was perfectly ok and only in recovery for a hour. I took minimum pain meds and got my catheter removed the next day and I left the day after it was removed.
