When does the SIDS risk drop? My daughter is 9.5 months and I am still afraid to let her sleep without me 😢

I can't sleep when he's in his bassinet either. I wake up to every tiny noise and have to sit up and check on him. I'm thankful I'm a light sleeper so cosleeping is an option for us or I would never sleep again.

@shylamarie, just make sure she has no blankets and dress her really warm so that she doesn’t NEED any blankets and she’ll be fine. If she can roll over and move around in her sleep she’ll be okay and yes after 1 the rate drops significantly I couldn’t remember if it was 6 months or a year!

@noahs.mommy, @damiensmommy1117, @mrshodges, @believeinbuddha, @bperrier, @ash621, We bed share, so I'm not too worried, but the few times I put her in her bed I cannot sleep! 😩

Have you looked in to a heart rate monitor at all? My daughter wore the Owlet until she was 13 months old. It’s the only thing that helped my husband sleep at night. My family has had two SIDS babies in the last generation so we took every precaution possible

True after 1 it's a significant drop but it drops after 6 months too. That helped me a lot. I was constantly losing sleep over it.

I was told it's when they are a year old the risk drops significantly.

I’m almost positive it’s when they are capable of rolling over on their own from belly to back and back to belly. That then means they are capable of getting themselves turned over if need be my son does it often.
