When do you know it’s time to bring your little one into the ER.
Back story, she’s been in and out of the hospital since she was 2 months old, she’s now 2. She has bad kidneys, seizures, the list goes on. She woke up super congested Sunday night so I brought her in Monday. We usually only see one dr because the others are idiots, and I use that term lightly. Somehow we got stuck with the idiot😡 he ran no test on her despite her history of proving them wrong(she’s has clear urine that tested negative until it was sent off for cultures, she’s had no symptoms and her wbc Be 30,000. Once again the list goes on. He did a WBC and said it was high, she’s lost a lbs (which is normal for her these days) and she had a temp. He gave her a steroid said she looks like she has the flu(no swabs) and sent her home. She ran a temp all night, and threw up when I say threw up that was an understatement. She hasn’t eaten since and has drank very little today. We just checked her temp after rotating fever meds all day and it’s still 101.9. Should I just see if it passes or bring her back in? The higher her temp gets the more likely she will have a seizure. I don’t want to be that mom who brings her kid to the ER with a cold, but this isn’t a cold.

@mommysbabies, she had to have her kidney reconstructed and part of one removed.
@randahubbard89, what is it for my son had a stint put in and I want to say that was like five hours between surgery start and when we could go back to him
@mommysbabies, oh man): we are scheduled for another one in January as well. I’m dreading it. She was under 8 hours the first time.
Just one my friends son is having surgery number three January
@mommysbabies, aww ): bless his heart. How has he done since?
No hydronephosis due to a kink in his urethra
@mommysbabies, did he have kidney reflux?
@randahubbard89, omg my son had his surgery at 1 luckily we only got one uti
@mommysbabies, she had her first kidney surgery at 13 months old! We only do clean catch urine checks, no bags anymore. It is ALWAYS sent for cultures. Her first one was at 2 months and we thought she had a cold, she had a temp and congestion, turns out she had a 30,000 wbc and a BAD kidney infection and we were admitted immediately. She has had 32 infections since then. She’s become immune to most antibiotics and has 4 confirmed cases of CDIFF.
Take her in fight for urine culture my son has kidney problems and I have to argue to get them to check his
I'd take her in
Take her in ☹☹☹
I'd take her in. If she has history of serious things then I'd go to be safe. If they gave to tell you she's fine and to go home then you know. But I wouldn't take chances with seizures or her medical history
